It seems like only yesterday that we were praising Robert Pattinson’s stunning good looks and boyish charm. The British actor was topping our “Most Popular” lists back in 2010 and 2011, and it wasn’t hard to see why. Pattinson, who was then 25 years old, had mastered the art of subtlety in portraying sensitive, brooding characters with ease. He possessed an acting talent that made him virtually unbreakable, and his fan base grew rapidly as a result.

Three years later and Pattinson has shifted gears once again. The Twilight actor now projects a more mature, worldly charm in his latest roles, which we’ve come to associate with heartbreak and tragedy. Indeed, it’s been a bit of a rocky start to the New Year for the actor, who was plunged into the spotlight as one of the main characters in last year’s Batman movie. In the film, Pattinson portrays Edward Cullen, a conflicted and confused vampire who finds himself struggling with his thirst for human blood while falling for Bella (Bette Midler).

It would be easy for us to sit back and enjoy yet another commercial success for the blond bombshell. But that wouldn’t do justice to the unique journey that brought Pattinson to this point. In this article, we’ll take you on a backstage pass at the Twilight star’s body transformation from head to toe, paying special attention to the various pieces of clothing that he wears throughout the day. So sit back, relax, and get ready to look better than ever before because here comes Robert Pattinson.

A Closer Look At The Cape

One of the first costumes that you’ll see Pattinson wear in the film is the black cape. It’s an iconic image, one that will be hard to forget. With his long hair and cowl-like hood, Pattinson gives off a mysterious, almost angelic vibe as he glides down the streets of Gotham City. On set, we were told that his Cape was inspired by those worn by Charles Dickens, and it’s easy to see how. The writer/publisher’s capes were often described as a “black velvet cloak with a hood,” and that seems to be something of an apt description.

The main difference between the two is that Dickens’ capes were often lined with silk or a similar fabric and were worn over a suit, not a t-shirt and jeans. We don’t get to see much of the suit, if any at all, but it’s there, underneath all of that black apparel. Still, the similarities between the two costumes are clear. The silhouette is similar, the material is similar, and the purpose of the garment is similar. That is to provide coverage while also showing off one’s style.

As we mentioned above, this was one of the first costumes that we saw Pattinson wear in the film. We don’t get to spend much time with him in this scene, but it’s enough to get an idea of how things will turn out. The outfit works for him because he looks the part and he knows exactly what he’s supposed to be doing, but it’s not exactly something that’s going to make him walk on the beach any time soon. If anything, this is probably closer to what he would wear if he was going for a night out in London than it is to what he would wear if he were going for a dip in the ocean somewhere.

Slimmer Rob & Better Fit

Before the camera starts rolling, we get another look at Rob Pattinson. This time, he’s going to be playing Edward, and it’s almost certain that he wears more comfortable clothing than what we’ve seen him in so far. On his arms, you can clearly see the beginnings of muscle definition. It’s not been all smooth sailing for the 25-year-old star, who spent the better part of last year battling severe meth addiction. By the looks of things, as a result of his hard work and commitment to rehabilitation, Rob has turned a corner and is ready to reclaim his former glory. Let’s take a closer look…

For those of you who follow the fashion side of things, you’ll know that jeans are among the most popular clothing items among men and women alike for the past few years. It’s not hard to understand why. The style never goes out of fashion, and it seems that the trend will continue with the introduction of washable fabrics and the rise of sustainable fashion. Of course, people still want to be different every now and then and go for a splashy, exciting look, but for the most part, jeans will be around for the foreseeable future. Not a bad thing. With all of that legroom, we’d be lying if we said that we don’t sometimes feel like going for a spin just to feel how good it is!

White Tee

On the set of Batman, we get to see Robert Pattinson in a white tee. It’s another style that he wears a lot and one that you’ll see him in time and again in future. Like with the jeans, we have the beginnings of muscle definition on Rob’s arms, and you can tell that he’s not wearing a t-shirt under here because it’s cold. The white tee works well with any color or pattern and has been seen on the red carpet numerous times, so it’s definitely going to be a winter staple. What’s more is that white tees are often associated with simplicity and purity, which is an apt description for Edward Cullen.

Black Tee

If you’ve been keeping up with this article, you’ll know that white isn’t exactly the way to go when it comes to representing honesty and purity. For that matter, neither are blue, so it’s best to go for a classic black tee when trying to evoke the spirit of a bygone era. The color of the shirt is another thing altogether because it can sometimes be a bit difficult to pull off looking completely authentic. Still, if you’re going for a movie-magic sort of vibe, there’s no better color to go for. It makes you disappear in the crowd, and that’s what you want if you’re playing a character who wishes to remain inconspicuous.

Tobacco Stocking

It’s not just about the clothes, you know! We always like to end our articles with a bang, and it’s no different when discussing fashion. Besides, we’re sure that many of you have a burning desire to know what’s lurking inside of Rob’s pant pockets. Is he carrying cigarettes? Is he trying to quit? Is he secretly a chain smoker? We might never know, but it’s something to think about as you watch the movie.

These are just some of the questions that this scene leaves us pondering. It’s not every day that you get to watch a movie in which the actor’s character is a vampire. It’s not often that you get to see a sexy, innocent young man transform into a sexy, dangerous vampire. It’s not every day that you get to witness a transformation scene that is this dramatic. It’s not every day that you get to witness a movie in which the actor steals the scene with his pants. It’s not every day that you get to see a movie in which the actor’s character is a vampire and he’s wearing some of the clothes that we’ve mentioned above. It’s quite an experience, and one that we hope that you’ll enjoy as much as we have. Just remember…if you look closely, you may notice that even though most of these clothes are black, there are tiny little bits of blue, red, and yellow in there too. That’s because these aren’t your typical everyday clothes. This is costume, we’re talking about. In some scenes, he might even wear a red cape or a yellow top instead of the usual black. It’s all in the eyes of the beholder, as they say. Still, it’s amazing to see such a laidback, easygoing attitude from the man who once portrayed the carefree Charlie. It’s like he’s completely changed his outlook on life, and it’s wonderful to see.
