Many of you may know that I am a huge fan of Robert Pattinson, mostly because of his unique combination of Hollywood glamour and geek-chic. I first became aware of him when he popped up in the 2004 movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Since then, I’ve watched many of his films, always keeping my eyes open for the next big thing. For those of you who aren’t familiar, here’s a little bit about Robert Pattinson:

Early Life

Robert Pattinson was born in London, England on March 20, 1986. He has an identical twin brother named Edward who is also a prominent British actor. His mother, Vanessa, is a former model and now runs a PR firm, while his father, Robin, is a photographer. After graduating from university with a degree in French literature, Robert Pattinson headed to Paris to pursue a modeling career. While there, he met up with the photographer that would later become his mentor, Luke Daley. Luke would help Pattinson get his big break in 2005 when he landed a supporting role in the epic fantasy movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Unfortunately, this was followed by a string of forgettable films that didn’t do much to establish Robert Pattinson as an actor. In 2007, he relocated to Los Angeles to begin developing his acting skills.

Career

Now, here’s where things get interesting. In 2008, Robert Pattinson was cast in the movie titled, Granada, which was based on the real-life story of Nikola Tesla. This was followed by a role in the Ridley Scott-directed movie, The Rum Diary. In 2010, he was given a leading role in the comedy The Boat Trader. Unfortunately, this was one of the few movies that Robert Pattinson was actually able to bring to life on the big screen. The following year, Disney cast Robert in the movie adaptation of Dan Brown’s bestselling novel, The Lost Symbol. This was followed by a small part in the sci-fi movie, Oblivion. In 2012, Robert Pattinson was given a co-starring role in the upcoming movie, Maps to the Stars. This was a movie about the life of Émile Zola and is set for release in 2017. In 2014, it was announced that Robert Pattinson would be taking on the role of Batman in the upcoming movie, The Batman. The following year, it was revealed that Matt Damon would be taking over the role of Batman in the new movie. While this isn’t an official adaptation of Grant Morrison and David Yardin’s comic book series, it’s pretty close and is set for release on July 18, 2019. On December 25, 2016, it was announced that Robert Pattinson would be playing the role of the Dark Knight in two upcoming movies: Morbius and War Machine.

Style

If you’ve read any of my other blogs, you’ll know that I have a thing for quirky, stylish guys (cue the hipster glasses). Robert Pattinson definitely fits the bill. He’s frequently seen wearing all black, which I find very intimidating, but also very fashionable. As far as fashion goes, it’s difficult to put into words what makes Robert Pattinson special. Basically, everything about him is styled to perfection and it’s hard to imagine him doing anything even remotely unprofessional. The man is definitely born to be a model.

There, now you know a little bit about Robert Pattinson. As I said, he’s a unique combination of Hollywood glamour and geek chic. What do you think of Robert Pattinson? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
