The last movie we saw Seth McFarlane’s new character, Peter MacLane, in was the hilarious Superhero Movie. In the movie, Peter MacLane attempts to save his city by becoming Batman, in a reference to the Adam West Batman TV series. In the end, however, Peter gives up being Batman, as the idea of being shirtless during the winter just isn’t for him.
But is Robert Pattinson, who plays the titular role in the upcoming Batman, actually better off without his shirt?
As fans of the series are aware, Batman’s costumes don’t usually feature shirts. The original Adam West series didn’t feature any shirts and many of the Batman comic books in the past have been published without shirts either. So, without having shirts to hide his bulges in, does Robert Pattinson look better?
Let’s take a look.
Does He Look Better Without The Shirt?
The short answer is yes, he does look better without the shirt. But that doesn’t mean that we’re going to see a Batman movie where he doesn’t wear a shirt. Sure, the filmmakers could make an exception and use this as a way to further establish Robert Pattinson’s character, but we’d much rather see him wear a shirt. Here’s why.
First off, let’s establish that Robert Pattinson looks great in the buff. If you’ve never seen the actor in person, then you really have no idea what you’re missing. He’s got an incredible body that he keeps incredibly fit and muscled. While we’re on the subject of bodies, let me just say that you’re never going to guess the size of Robert Pattinson’s penis based on his movies. It’s huge and, as we’ve established, he keeps it perfectly shaved. So, when he’s not wearing a shirt, you get a great view of his tattoos and the muscles in his back. It’s quite the sight. For those of you who love a nice Fifty Shades Of Grey type of read, you’re in for a treat. Just make sure you’ve worn some protection the night before, as he has a way with his tongue that could make you forget all about the book.
Why Does He Wear The Shirt?
It’s no secret that Batman is one of the most popular characters in comic books and, perhaps more importantly, movies. So, it’s likely that many people were wondering why Robert Pattinson decided to wear a shirt in the film. Well, here’s the answer: Because he’s playing a character who frequently doesn’t wear shirts.
Batman’s original inspiration was a comic book character named Thomas Wayne, who was inspired by the Golden Age detective, Dick Tracy. This version of Batman never wore a shirt because he thought it made him more agile and, therefore, more effective as a detective. While this could be a justifiable reason for some of the detectives in the Batman comics and movies to not wear shirts, it’s completely absurd for the Caped Crusader himself to not wear one. In the comics, it is established that Batman’s nipples are hard from running around with no shirt on. It’s also important to note that in several scenes where Batman is wearing a black suit, he is shown without a shirt. So, even in the comics, it’s not like Batman always wears his shirt. It’s just that his usual attire is darker and, therefore, better displays his unshaven nipples and tattoos.
While we’re on the subject of Batman and his nipples, let’s not forget about the Dark Knight’s other defining feature: The Joker. The Joker is another character who doesn’t wear shirts, frequently to the point where it’s almost impossible to tell which one of his movies he doesn’t have on screen. He enjoys showing off his muscles and, not surprisingly, loves a good Fifty Shades Of Grey type of read. While his usual attire is a mask, his face paint and scars add a level of character to his appearance that isn’t easily replicated by a costume. In several of the Joker scenes, he isn’t shown wearing a shirt, which also helps to establish that the Joker is more of an anti-establishment, punk figure, than he is a traditional superhero villain.
More Than Meets The Eye
Even beyond the fact that he doesn’t wear shirts, there’s a lot more that makes Robert Pattinson stand out as Batman. For starters, just check out that physique. As we’ve established, Robert Pattinson has an incredible body and, at times, it seems like it’s just hanging in the air. Without a shirt, it’s easy to see how this could be a problem, as there’s no way to hide his six-pack stomach or those muscles in his arms and legs. Add to that the fact that he doesn’t wear a belt and it doesn’t take a genius to realize that this guy is packing some serious heat. Let’s not forget about those piercing blue eyes, either. It’s easy to tell that Batman is no ordinary man.
So, there you have it. As we’ve established, Batman isn’t your ordinary superhero. He doesn’t always wear a shirt and many of his scenes are completely nude. If you’ve never seen the actor in person, you’ve got a real treat ahead. Just make sure you’re not offended by strong language and/or adult situations. Otherwise, strap on your seat belt and get ready to rumble.
