Actor Robert Pattinson was spotted dressed as Batman for the premiere of The Batman on Wednesday night (October 31) in Hollywood. The British actor, who is dating Bella Swan in real life, sported the Dark Knight’s familiar tuxedo and cape while filming the latest entry in the DC Comics adaptation series with Director Christopher Nolan. The film will hit theatres on December 25.
Pattinson, 30, has previously admitted that he is a big fan of DC Comics and films like the “Dark Knight” series. He told Wonderland magazine earlier in the year that he is “desperate” to play Batman and that he thinks the character is “hugely underutilized.” “I would love to play Batman,” he said. “I think it would be really cool. I am desperate to play Batman… It would be such a thrill to play such an iconic character.”
The former “Twilight” star has long been linked to Hollywood celebrities, including Mark Wahlberg and Will Smith. He has also collaborated with designer Christian Louboutin, creating a limited-edition shoe, as well as his own fragrance, “Robert Pattinson.”
The Batman movie will hit theaters on December 25. The film will star Robert Pattinson as Batman and be directed by Christopher Nolan. Mark Hamill will play The Joker while newcomer Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman. Another new addition to the cast is Rosie Perez, who will play a streetwise lawyer. The film will also feature the return of some familiar faces including Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Diane Lane.
Robert Pattinson Dresses As Batman For The Premiere Of ‘The Batman’
It’s no secret that Batman is one of the most popular characters among the fans. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that he has been part of the DC Comics’ cinematic universe since 1939. He has also been played by some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, including Frank Sinatra, who was the first to don the cowl back in 1946. Now, as one of the most recognizable silhouettes in all of fiction, it would seem only natural that Batman would be the center of attention at the premieres of his movies.
In case you were wondering, the answer is yes, Pattinson actually wore the tuxedo and cape and not a costume. The British actor looked elegant as he posed for pictures with his arm around Director Nolan. The pair have worked on several projects together, including the upcoming film “Dunkirk.” We also got a glimpse of the pair’s playful banter during the press conference.
The premiere of the new “The Batman” was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday night. Several A-list celebs dropped by to celebrate the big-screen debut of one of cinema’s most iconic characters. Among the attendees were Tom Hardy, Michael Keaton, and Henry Cavill, who are all stars in their own right. They were joined by “Dunkirk” director Martin Mcdonnell and producer Kevin Tsujihara. The cast and crew of the film also tweeted about the event, sharing their excitement about the premiere and the many exciting moments it contained.
The Dark Knight Trilogy Will Be Re-Released In 4K UHD
Since its premiere in 2009, “The Dark Knight” has inspired merchandise galore, including a popular and successful line of Batman graphic novels, the first of which was released in July 2009. Many moviegoers were undoubtedly delighted when they heard that the superhero movie would be getting a re-release this year as part of the summer movie season. Now, five years later, those fans will get a chance to relive the cinematic experience for one more time.
Warner Bros.’ Home Entertainment division will re-release the Batman film trilogy in 4K Ultra High Definition this year. The re-release will include all three films, “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “The Dark Knight Dark,” which were previously released on Blu-ray in their original aspect ratios. The films will be packed into six volumes, with each volume weighing in at just under 30 hours long. The sets will feature a lot of bonus features, including additional scenes, gag reels, character analyses, and more. The first volume will be released on DVD on June 11 and the remaining five will be released on Blu-ray on July 10.
Anne Hathaway Reveals Rosie Perez’s Role In ‘The Batman’
On the surface, it may seem unlikely that a fragrance inspired by Christian Louboutin would be featured in a comic-book movie, but that is exactly what happened with the new “The Batman”. Rosie Perez, who you may know as Elle MacLeman on “The Bojack Horseman” Netflix series, will play a lawyer in the film. Louboutin was reportedly so taken by the idea of a fragrance inspired by his shoes that he gave the go-ahead to develop a perfume called “Perez Louboutin.”
According to Perez, playing a law firm partner for Christian Louboutin was almost like acting in the designer’s actual shoe store. “We would often work late into the night,” she said. “When we wrapped, the adrenaline would be pumping and we would be starving. So Mr. Louboutin would take us to one of the finest restaurants in Paris.”
Perez went on to praise Louboutin for making her feel like a “full-fledged part of the family” and for helping her become “more confident in who I am.” She said it is an “honor” to represent Christian Louboutin and that she and her fellow cast and crew are “proud to be a part of this.”
While Christian Louboutin was undoubtedly pleased to have Rosie Perez’s likeness used to promote his fragrance, she must have been equally happy to promote a movie she had nothing to do with. Rosie Perez will always be remembered for playing the hilarious title character in Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing,” and here she is again, this time in a scene from Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.” It is safe to say that it will be hard for Perez to top that.
Mark Hamill On Why He Is Finally Playing The Joker
After nearly 80 years, it’s time for Batman to make room for the next actor to don the cowl. It seems like every decade brings a new face to play the part but, until now, they’ve never been able to quite match up to the iconic status of the character. That is until now. In an exclusive interview with CBC News, Mark Hamill, who played the Joker in six memorable Batman movies, said that he feels confident that this time he has finally found the right to play the role.
“I think that I’ve finally found a way to bring something new and different to the role. Of course, it’s influenced by my experience playing the role in the previous films. I thought about what would be the most interesting thing for me to do, which is something that’s never been done before. So, it’s an exciting time for me.”
Hamill went on to compare the Joker to other legendary villains from the DC Comics universe, saying that he sees similarities between them. “The Joker is a sociopath who’s very dangerous but in a funny way,” he said. “He’s definitely the most interesting of the bunch. And he’s never been portrayed quite like this before.”
According to Hamill, the Joker will bring something new to the Batman franchise, which is desperately needed in today’s world of superhero films. “He’s definitely not your typical `80s thug,” Hamill said. “In fact, he’s the complete opposite — an `80s thug with a soul.”
Not to mention that the character is extremely versatile, which, as Hamill points out, is something that hasn’t been reflected in the part since the original comedian, Boris Karloff, played the role in “The Adventures of Robin Hood” nearly 70 years ago. In that film, the Joker was a complete opposite of the grounded superhero, fighting alongside him while dressed in a bright yellow outfit. In fact, he wasn’t even really called the Joker back then; his name was originally Jack Napier.
Hamill hopes that this new take on the Joker will resonate with audiences. “I want them to feel like they’re watching a classic film and then have an experience at the same time,” he said. “I want them to feel nostalgic while also feeling like they’re part of the action.”
