With Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hitting theaters on March 25 and the rumors surrounding a potential Robert Pattinson/Batman collabuntion running rampant, it seems as though the Caped Crusader is back in fashion.

Whether or not Robert Pattinson will don the iconic black suit for the upcoming movie is still anyone’s guess, but with all the speculation and theorizing surrounding the upcoming cinematic adaptation it is well worth keeping an eye on.

The most recent photos of the actor seemingly donning the classic look were shared by Claudia Winkleman of OK! magazine and they show Pattinson in a black and grey suit posing next to British actor Ben Kingsley. Winkleman writes:

“I’ve been told by a source close to the project that Robert Pattinson is playing Batman and Ben Kingsley is portraying his billionaire adversary, the Joker. I’m not sure if that’s true, but it certainly looks that way based on these stunning photos!”

In the gallery below you will find a handful of photos of Pattinson in a black suit as well as various other Halloween costumes he has sported over the years. Let’s take a look at them.

Robert Pattinson In A Black Suit

The first photo is rather self-explanatory. Pattinson appears to be in a black suit and it would seem as though he is about to board a flight. He has his boarding pass in his hand as he makes his way to the gate. It seems as though he is about to board the plane when the photographer called him away to shoot the next scene. You can see a similar looking suit in the movie Jackie + Joy. The same tailor who made King Louis XIV’s suit also created the suit for the actor.

Robert Pattinson As Batman

The next few photos were taken just a few days before Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was released. Here we have Pattinson as Batman. It is quite the contrast to the actor’s usually slick and stylish looks. He is fully geared up in the outfit and it is obvious that he is portraying Batman. This is definitely one of the most iconic looks in Batman’s long history. This suit was created by Alfred Angelo and the tailor was Giorgio Bassani. We can see that the suit evolved over the years. It started out rather plain and simple, then gained some stripes along the pant leg before finally reaching its current form.

Robert Pattinson As The Joker

The Joker is probably the most recognizable and iconic villain in all of movie history. He is often cited as the greatest genius of all time and it is quite easy to see why. He is often compared to Richard Huebing’s BizEaze character and the similarity is evident. The resemblance is uncanny. In fact, if you squint your eyes you can almost make out Huebing in the Joker. While some individuals doubted whether or not the movie would stay true to its source material, the filmmakers went all out to ensure that the two characters were a perfect match. In a nutshell, the Joker’s game is to confuse Batman, the Caped Crusader, by dressing up like him and acting like him. The costume for the movie was created by Douglas Adams and the stylist was Sophie Winkleman. While we don’t know for sure if Pattinson will be sporting this particular outfit for the movie, we can surmise that it will be a look that is both memorable and representative of the Clown Prince of Crime. Perhaps he will even have a pair of yellow jokers on his chest as in the comic books.

It seems as though the world of Batman is embracing the Clown Prince of Crime as of late, especially since his outfit was so memorable and highly imitable. In truth, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice has been met with largely positive reviews, both across the pond and in America, which is a promising sign for the franchise.
