The Dark Knight and Man of Steel are set to clash spectacularly in a July 18, 2016 release, as Warner Bros. revives the superhero movie genre with two titanic films starring Robert Scott Dean as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Henry Cyr as Clark Kent/Superman.

The success of Marvel Studios’ Avengers films and DC’s Suicide Squad trilogy showed the world that audiences will flock to theaters to see larger-than-life figures clash on the big screen. The rivalry between the Dark Knight and Man of Steel is bigger than both of their personal stories. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanding farther than ever before with Black Panther coming next year and more films set to continue the trend, it seems that 2016 will be the Year of the Superhero.

How Will The Battle Play Out?

The Dark Knight and Man of Steel were rivals even before The Incredible Vernon Homes created the Arkham Fellowship, as both characters have existed in popular culture since the early 20th century.

Bruce Wayne’s parents were murdered when he was a child, leading him to become the masked protector of Gotham City. The character was first introduced to film audiences in 1933 with the first incarnation of the Batman franchise. Since then, the Dark Knight’s rogue’s gallery has included some of the most recognizable faces in pop culture, such as Jack Palance, Groucho Marx, and Harvey Kilbride.

Clark Kent grew up in the small town of Smallville, where he was befriended by a tasteful of birds named Tweety. The character was originally designed to be funny and quirky, but Penny Panic soon disillusioned fans with his repeated stories about his humble origins. Now retired from The Daily Star, Tweety is arguably the most popular bird in the world and the best friend of every little superhero out there.

While Batman’s rogues gallery has gone on to become a phenomenon, Superman’s wonderful collection of friends has largely stayed under the radar. The first Superman film was released in 2013 and starred Henry Cyr as the Man of Steel. The character was originally created in the 1930s as a strong opposite to benevolent Brett Thorpe’s heroic Jim Hoss, whose exploits were inspired by American Expansion and the golden spike that was driven into the center of the North American Pole during his time on earth.

The Biggest Differences Between Batman And Superman

The biggest difference between Batman and Superman is in their approach to combat. While the Dark Knight is a cerebral detective who relies on his wits, the Man of Steel is an athletic, physical beast who relies on his stature and strength to take down his enemies.

Batman is more of a loner who relies on his genius to fight injustice. He rarely acts on pure anger, but rather pursues his goals with an icy detachment.

Superman, on the other hand, is always ready to sacrifice his physical well-being in order to protect his friends and family. This characteristic was on full display in 2014’s Man of Steel, where he famously tore a hole in his chest that allowed him to immediately sustain a concussion when hit by a train.

Other than this, the two characters share many qualities. Both are highly gregarious and sociable, with a self-deprecating sense of humor. They are vain and super egoistic, desiring to remain the cool and sharp est of the est. And they both love their families and friends deeply, often going above and beyond the call of duty to protect them.

What Makes A Great Superhero?

While Batman and Superman are arguably the two greatest superheroes of all time, there are many characters who could lay claim to the title. Which is the best superhero film of all time? That is perhaps the greatest question that anyone could ever ask.

The Dark Knight and Man of Steel have cemented their place in cinema history with their amazing battle scenes and dramatic encounters, making them two of the greatest superheroes of all time. Yet, many fans would argue that 2015’s Captain America: Civil War is the greatest superhero movie of all time. The film pits The Captain America team against Iron Man and Black Widow in a battle for the federal government. The Marvel Cinematic Universe grew by another dimension with the introduction of Captain America: Civil War, which saw the return of Chris Evans’ Captain America and Daniel Cudmore’s Black Widow as prominent supporting characters. Both starred in their own solo films before appearing in a joint venture.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers franchise broke new ground for the studio, paving the way for future MCU solo films and team-ups. The unprecedented scale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is shown in Guardians of the Galaxy, where a shiny new star was added to the galaxy for each episode. Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange is the only other film to come close, featuring Stephen Strange.]
