Pattinson On Why He Chose To Be An Actor
Pattinson stated in an interview with Fader that he initially wanted to be a fashion designer when he was younger, but his parents encouraged him to pursue a different career. “I think it was a combination of a couple of things. My mom worked in journalism and my dad was an entrepreneur,” he said. “I remember being sort of pushed toward the glass at the zoo as a kid, like, ‘Look at that!’ And I was like, ‘What am I supposed to be looking at?’ And then when I did go to design school, I realized I wasn’t meant to be a designer. But I loved to draw, so I ended up doing my diploma in graphic design and ended up in advertising.”
Pattinson’s parents are both deceased, but he still keeps in touch with his father’s side of the family, mainly his aunts and uncles. He will be performing solo and with his band, which features guitar player Michael Schenker of Scorpions and bass player Greg Moore of The Who alongside him. His upcoming tour, “Dorian Live,” will be his first solo concert tour in support of “Dorian Gray.”
