The last time we saw Robert Pattinson, he was sporting a beautiful black beard and staring into the flames of a roaring fire. It was a scene that made quite an impression on us, especially since it was quite the departure from our previous view of him. As usual, Pattinson’s publicist was quick to remind us that this was no ordinary day at home for his client. He had just filmed his latest action scene for the new Batman movie and was tired but happy about it. It was then that we learned that the Batman movie is now officially called “The Batman” and will hit theaters on June 25, 2018.

Since then, we’ve been bombarded with new images of Pattinson as the Dark Knight. Thanks to the magic of Photoshop, we’ve been able to piece them all together to form a picture of what to expect from the film. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about Robert Pattinson as The Batman.

The Beard

If you’ve followed our blogs at all, you’ll know that we’re huge fans of the actor’s beautiful facial hair. While filming “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” he sported a scraggly goatee that was both intimidating and strangely beautiful. We even did a little Photoshop analysis on it and came up with this amazing conclusion: The beard is a nod to James Bond. That’s right, folks, it’s time to set our sights even higher and enter the man behind the mask. We’re certain that when all is said and done, this is going to be one of the most memorable faces in movie history.

Hair

We know, as a general rule, that Robert Pattinson favors long hair. As we’ve stated in previous blogs, we believe that Pattinson’s hair symbolizes both his masculinity and vulnerability. The longer the hair, the more intimidating he seems. There’s a reason why so many of his characters are often seen with their hair in a shaggy mess: It makes them look more alpha.

Look On His Fingers

We can’t begin to tell you how much we love it when an actor chooses to wear their costume buttons on the outside of their clothing. The more exposed, the better for us. When he wasn’t filming “The Batman,” we saw pictures of the actor with his hands all over the place. It seems that he’s quite the tactile person and enjoys feeling various textures with his hands. While most people hide their fingerprints these days, Pattinson seems to be doing the exact opposite. He’s proud of his fingerprints and often spreads them around to feel the texture on his skin. It’s a look that is both majestic and mischievous at the same time.

The Jacket

Speaking of textures, we cannot forget about the luxurious feel that comes with the thick outerwear his characters so often wear. It’s like velvet or silk and it feels incredible against the skin. While it may not seem like a big deal, the texture of the jacket he wears in “The Batman” is the same as the texture of the snow he skims over in the first image we showed you. It’s like it was made for him and fits perfectly against his form-fitting physique.

The Trousers

In an age where superheroes are as common as moths to a flame, it’s amazing how many different looks they come in. When it comes to jeans, most people think that they only have one standard look and if you don’t fit into it, you probably have to upgrade your wardrobe. Not so with superheroes: They can be created using any style you want and you can take a gander at any superhero movie ever made and see someone rocking some jeans.

We can see that Pattinson is no stranger to denim and is quite comfortable wearing it. While we love the range of jeans he wears, we get the most joy out of his stonewash jeans. They were first worn by Brad Pitt in the 2000 comedy “The Curious Case of Ren and Stimpy,” but have since been worn by everyone from Tom Hardy to Robert Pattinson.

The Shoes

There is arguably no more iconic fashion accessory in the history of cinema than the stethoscope. It’s been around since the early 1900s and was featured prominently in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho.” We’re certain that everyone has a pair of these in their medicine cabinet, whether or not they’ve been used. As you may have guessed from his previous roles, shoes are also a big thing for Robert Pattinson. He typically wears high-quality footwear and is always seen with his shoes untied.

The Sunglasses

It wouldn’t be a fitting end to this blog post if we didn’t mention sunglasses at some point. While the stethoscope may be on the rise in popularity today, it was originally designed to accompany doctors’ visits, not people’s everyday wear. We’re certain that most people have a pair of sunglasses that were “born” in the 1990s and have since become an essential part of their wardrobe.

Pattinson is often seen with his sunglasses on the outside of his helmet, whether it’s for protection or because he just wants to show off the stylish frames he often wears. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he looks badass with sunglasses on. We especially like the way he wears the oversized sunglasses, as it makes him look even more like a rebellious genius.

Overall

It’s quite the transformation for the British actor and we can’t wait to see what he’ll look like when he puts on the mask. We’d like to think that he’ll be better than ever before, but we have our doubts. The good news is that he’s one of the most recognizable and talented actors of this generation and we’re certain that he’ll make the most out of this new role. Who knows, maybe this will be the role that finally gets him into the mainstream after all these years of being a recluse. Maybe it’ll even earn him a Golden Globe nomination.
