In 2007, Pattinson was named the best actor of the year in Australia and New Zealand for his role in the film The Golden Road. Although he’s often referred to as a role model and a king, the multi-hyphenate has a troubled past. He was briefly engaged to his Birthmark actress Amal Alamuddin in 2012. They called it off a few months later, but the couple continued to have a strong bond with each other. After the breakup, he started dating fellow British actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and they were seen celebrating their one-year anniversary in December 2013. A few months later, he was photographed without his shirt on a beach in St Barts looking very much like a love-bug. Many people assume that this is why he pulled a Robin Hues shirt off-scene in the first place – to cover up his tattoos. After the scandalous photos were published, his representative told Vanity Fair that he had no plans to cover up his tattoos and that he got the shirt because he wanted to experiment with different styles. Whatever the reason, it didn’t work out very well for Pattinson. He has yet to officially comment on the matter, but insiders say the situation is likely to repeat itself. Why Is He Under Fire?
Since the beginning of the year, there’s been a continuous stream of unflattering reports about Pattinson in the British press. First came the news that he’d been cheating on Rosie with another model, Erin Heatherton. In an interview with Vogue, she spilled the beans about their affair. According to Erin, the A-list couple would meet up for dinner dates and go on holiday together, but things got physical way too soon. Erin also alleged that a fight broke out between her and Rosie during a game of Pai Gow Poker, resulting in a scratched face for Erin. Since then, there’s been more bad news for the Hollywood paparazzi. Rosie and Pattinson were seen together on New Year’s Eve, which led to a lot of speculation that they’re an item. They weren’t denying their blossoming relationship, but neither were they confirming it. It seems that Pattinson is keeping his options open as he tries to navigate his way through the treacherous waters of dating and relationships.
How Does He Sleep?
As we’ve established, dating and relationships are probably the most sensitive issues for Pattinson. Since he began seeing Rosie, it’s been rumored that his sleeping habits have changed for the worse. Apparently, he now sleeps in truer colors and dreams of fame and fortune. In July 2014, he tweeted that he was “despised and isolated” because of his celebrity. He went on to lament how he “cries himself to sleep every night,” which apparently doesn’t help.) As you’ve probably guessed, the reason why Robert Pattinson is often referred to as the “ultimate villain” is because of his famous temper. One of the many allegations against him is that he punched and kicked James Franco during a drunken brawl that broke out at a comedy club in 2011. He was also involved in a violent altercation with another man at a party in 2007. Allegedly, he knocked the other dude out cold and stole his wallet, which was filled with designer goods. He later pawned the items for money to buy drugs and drink. Needless to say, he doesn’t strike us as someone to really aspire to be like. One person who isn’t a fan of the actor is his cousin, Elton John. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Elton said, “I think he’s a disaster…He’s such a show-off. He’ll walk down the street and do this amazing thing, and everyone will be talking about him. And then, the next day, he’ll be absolutely mortified. He doesn’t like being the center of attention, so I think that’s why he does these things. To have the spotlight on him.” While they may not always see eye to eye, Elton John seems to have a point.
