It should come as no surprise that the couple want to take some time off after welcoming a baby into the world. Other than Mad Max: Fury Road, another potentially winning movie this year is Lion, starring Nicole Kidman and Robert Pattinson. The film follows a pregnant Nicole Kidman as she travels to Africa to adopt a baby lion. Although it doesn’t have a strong narrative, the fact that it was filmed during a severe African drought and the lion cubs’ survival rate are the stuff of great cinema. Unfortunately, Lion isn’t set to premiere in time for the Oscars, so it won’t be able to snatch any award for which it is eligible. But still, it’s bound to be influential nonetheless.
