Christmas is almost here! The shops are bustling, the sales are fabulous and with just a little bit of planning you can ensure your Christmas is filled with luxury and joy.
It’s no secret that Robert Pattinson is the love of our lives; not only is he hot but he can also make us laugh. As the year draws to an end, it’s time for us to reflect on the most stunning moments from this past year and remember all the unforgettable people associated with them.
One of the greatest moments of 2019 was when Robert Pattinson graced our screens in the most wonderful Christmas movie ever, aptly named Robert Pattinson & FKA Twigs Christmas.
This festive comedy-drama brings to life the most gorgeous and romantic scenes from Robert Pattinson’s phenomenal year, beginning with his turn as Scrooge in Yuletide, continuing with his role as the dashing and devilish Quentin Tarantulin in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and culminating in his cinematic duet with FKA Twigs.
The story begins when wintry Scrooge (Robert Pattinson) is visited by two ghosts that change his life forever. The first is his former business partner, Marley (Kate Winslet), who was murdered by Scrooge three years previously. The second is Michael (Jeff Goldblum), Marley’s ghost, who’s come back to haunt Scrooge and demand that he pay him back for all the terrible things he’s done to him over the years. At first, Scrooge seems overwhelmed, denying the ghosts’ existence completely. But as the movie progresses and he comes to understand the complexity of his problems, Scrooge finds himself inexplicably drawn to the beautiful FKA Twigs (pictured above, on the left with Robert Pattinson) and her unique, heart-shaped Christmas ornaments. He begins to see the magic of the holiday season and before we know it, Scrooge is decorating his home with the finest Christmas ornaments and gifts, as well as inviting his friends for a Christmas party.
As the camera pans around his majestic mansion, it rests on a stunning array of Christmas ornaments, garlands, wreaths and tree decorations. Scrooge’s decorations are elaborate and full, yet cozy and warm – a far cry from his usual austere, dark style.
The decorations reflect Scrooge’s ever-changing moods and whims. Sometimes he’ll have an ornament that represents his former success in the city. Other times he decorates with his beloved Christmas lights, which he’s always found so soothing. Whatever the case may be, wherever Scrooge’s eyes rest, he sees only beauty and magic. It’s a feast for the eyes and a joy to behold.
The Perfect Fit
It was always going to be a difficult decision to pick just one outfit for Robert Pattinson to wear in Robert Pattinson & FKA Twigs Christmas. He’s been spotted in so many amazing looks throughout the course of the year that it’s hard to choose. But there was one look in particular that stood out amongst the rest: that is, the classic velvet smoking jacket. The look is one that we’ve seen him sport many times before and it’s the perfect match for this festive season. We already wrote an article in which we detailed the numerous ways in which he wears this stunning item of clothing.
The versatility of this timeless style is what makes it so special. Worn open, it creates a classic, masculine look. Worn closed, it transforms into a look that is both classy and elegant. Most impressively, it can be worn as a blazer – the ultimate combination of functionality and style.
Kate Winslet Makes A Comeback
It’s been quite the year for Kate Winslet. She began the year as the reigning Queen of the Big Shorts and continued it as the Goddess of the Golden Hair. But it’s not just her physical appearance that has been on full display this year, it’s also been the work she’s put in. She’s been a diligent actress, appearing in multiple movies throughout the year and continuing to show off her incredible ability to transform into any character. It’s fair to say that Winslet’s performance in Robert Pattinson & FKA Twigs Christmas was nothing short of phenomenal. She embodies Marley’s duality, both light and dark, strong and weak, and yet somehow maintains her sense of humor and positivity.
Marley is the ghost of a man who, like Scrooge, has everything he could ever want – money, fame, and beautiful women. But after spending his entire life in luxury, he’s become jaded and bitter. He comes back to haunt Scrooge in order to make him see the beauty of Christmas and the value of his friends and family. For a long time, Marley’s visitations have been a source of irritation to Scrooge, who reacts by kicking him out of his house. But in the end, it is Marley who wins Scrooge over – not only does he appear to Michael in a dream, but also in real life, winning over Scrooge’s heart and inviting him to Christmas dinner. He shows Scrooge that it’s not about having, but about giving and being generous.
One of the things that makes Marley so compelling is that he’s a fundamentally good person who wants to share his insight with the one person who most bitterly needs it at this point in time: Scrooge. The other ghosts are a bit jealous of Marley’s effect on Scrooge and even Michael is moved to ask him, “Is love that powerful?” It would seem so, as Scrooge’s love for Marley is unconditional and shows no sign of waning.
Goldblum Is Back As Well
We’ve all been waiting for Jeff Goldblum to make an appearance in a movie for a long time – and finally, his elusive fans can rejoice. After a disappointing turn as the voice of T-Rex in Genius: Picasso, Jeff Goldblum is back as Michael as he appears in Robert Pattinson’s cinematic opus. But is he back for good this time? Will he continue to flash his extraordinary gold-teeth smile and steal the show?
Michael’s return is foreshadowed in the trailer for Robert Pattinson & FKA Twigs Christmas when we see Jeff Goldblum’s shadowy presence. For a long time now, we’ve been teased by the sight of this wonderful actor, who continues to amaze in every role he takes on. Whether he’s playing evil masterminds or wise-cracking, mischievous bachelors, Goldblum is consistently brilliant and never fails to steal the scene.
A Heart-shaped Christmas
We couldn’t write an article on the most stunning moments of 2019 without including the phenomenal work of UK designer Emily Taylor. We love her intricate and unique heart-shaped ornaments, which have become a bit of a tradition amongst our own circle. There’s something so special about creating heart-shaped decorations that evoke both the spirit and the shape of Christmas – what could be more perfect?
Emily Taylor’s work is truly exquisite and always an ode to the most stunning aspects of the festive season. We can’t wait to see what she creates next year.
A Debut Performance That Rocked
It’s been a special year for Tom Hardy, largely due to his performance in Dunkirk. The WWII epic saw the star return to his natural habitat of London and the city turned out in force to see him on the big screen for the first time. The hype was real and Hardy lived up to all the expectations, proving himself to be one of the greatest actors of our time. It would seem that Hardy is on a bit of a roll this year, having also delivered a legendary performance in Venom.
Tom Hardy’s portrayal of the venomous superhero was nothing short of magnificent. He expertly juggled lethal superpowers with a wry sense of humor and stole every scene he was in. Hardy’s versatility is what makes it so special, he can play almost any role you throw at him with complete confidence and conviction. We can’t wait to see what he does next year.
The performances of these incredible star-worthy actors, as well as those from the supporting cast are what make Robert Pattinson & FKA Twigs Christmas such a joy to behold.
