Robert Pattinson is one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors. The British actor was born in London in 1982 and rose to fame after appearing in numerous films including the Twilight series. He earned a total of over £100 million ($150.5 million) from the franchise. In May 2015, it was reported that Pattinson and long-time partner Emily Blunt were expecting their first child together. The proud dad shared a sweet Instagram post after the announcement.

The couple have been together since meeting on the set of Damages in 2010. In 2013, they became engaged on the Golden Coast and later wed at a lavish ceremony in Florence, Italy. Since then, they’ve been adding to their family with two sons, Otis and Redmond. This year, Pattinson was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his achievements in the industry. In May 2020, he’ll be turning 38 years old.

Pattinson’s net worth has increased by £7.8 million ($11.8 million) since the start of the year, largely thanks to sales of his Twilight swimwear collection. The Scottish singer-songwriter Taylor Swift penned a romantic ballad for Pattinson to perform at the 2019 Met Gala, “Someday Soon”. The song’s lyrics go:

Since releasing the song, speculation has surrounded a potential D-Day with Swift. The pair were once rumored to be a Pattinson and Blunt celebration, but that was before they wed. While on the subject of Taylor Swift, she also wrote a song for the Twilight film New Moon, entitled “Sober”. It was inspired by the New Moon biker episode. In the song, Swift praises vodka and white wine, and declares, “I’m so responsible”. Perhaps the most well-known songwriter of all time, Elvis Presley, also had a song for the Twilight series: “Mystery, Mystery”, which he performed with Swedish singer Abba Abba at the 1972 Elvis Presley concert in Buenos Aires. 

Love For Lifetime

It’s fair to say that Pattinson’s love for Blunt is mutual. The actor has spoken of their long-lasting romance, saying, “I feel like I’ve found the one. I feel like I’ve found the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with. It’s been beautiful. It’s been one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. I feel very lucky.”

Blunt has also spoken of her lasting love for the actor. She told Britain’s Hello! magazine in 2015 that she and Pattinson have “never been closer. We know each other’s minds so well. We understand each other’s feelings. We make each other happy. We make each other laugh. It’s just the best relationship. I can’t even explain it.”

Despite his staggering wealth, Pattinson is modest when it comes to his personal life. The actor has remained tight-lipped about his upbringing, personal training, and his fashion choices. Perhaps this is because he wants to keep his perfect image. He also seems to believe in choosing his partners carefully and being open about their pasts. When he was just 23 years old, he was found to have a large amount of money, thanks to his famous parents, but he chose to donate a major portion of his earnings to a children’s charity. He told Hello! magazine, “I had a really clear idea of what I wanted from life and what I didn’t want. I didn’t want to be famous, I wanted to be happy. So, with that in mind, I decided to give the money away.”

The actor has also spoken of the importance of being open about his mental health, revealing, “It’s something I’ve been very open about, and I think that’s what’s helped me get to where I am today. There were a lot of things that I had to battle with in my head. Sometimes, I would feel really low and down and wonder whether I was going to be able to make it or not. But, thank God, I did. And I’m very grateful for that.” He concluded, “I think if I continue to be honest and open about it, that’s the way forward.”

Future Plans

Pattinson has yet to announce any future projects, but he did reveal in an interview with Hello! that he has a script he’s working on with filmmaker Marc Forster, which he hopes to make into a movie. He told them, “It’s a love story, it’s set in the 60s and it’s about jazz musicians. We’re in the very early stages of developing it, but that’s what I’m looking forward to. I’ve always loved music and I’d love to work with some of the greats from that era.”

In a separate interview with Hello! on the eve of the 2020 Met Gala, Pattinson discussed the direction his personal style has taken and what’s next on his agenda. “I want to continue to evolve style-wise, as well as continue to focus on my acting,” he said. “I don’t want to get too caught up in what people think about me. That’s not the point. I want to live my life how I want to live it. That’s all.”

Pattinson plans to remain single for the foreseeable future. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, he said, “I want to be with someone I love. I don’t want to rush into anything. I’ve been waiting for the right person to come along. I’m not going to lie. It’s been quite hard. Being single is really good. You get to focus on your own life and grow as an individual. You can’t rely on anyone else. That’s the main thing.”

For many years, the actor kept quiet about his relationship with Blunt. However, in May 2019 he finally announced their engagement. In a statement to E! News, Pattinson said, “I want to honestly say that I’ve loved Emily for as long as I can remember. She is special. She is my ideal woman. She is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I’m happy to finally be able to share this with the world.”
