Robert Pattinson is an English actor, musician, and film producer. He began his career in 2001 and has since appeared in a number of films, most notably the Twilight series, which earned him an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain. He is also known for his role as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter film series. In addition to acting, he is a member of the band The Lads and he is also the frontman of the group Passenger.
The Lads
The Lads are an English rock band formed in London in 1967. Since then, they have sold over 8 million albums worldwide and scored several platinum and gold albums. While they never officially disbanded, they officially separated in 1975.
After years of touring, the surviving members of the band, Mick Jones, Charlie Jackson, and Dave Anthony decided to continue recording and touring under the name “The Lads”. The band began gaining popularity again after posting on social media that they were reunited and planning to resume touring.
In 2014, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a part of its ceremonies in Cleveland, Ohio.
MTV Movie Awards
The MTV Movie Awards is an annual awards show that airs on MTV.[1] The show is mostly devoted to honoring the movies and TV shows that were released in the previous year. Winners are voted by the general public.[2]
The Lads received a nomination for Best Villain for their work in the 2010 film Twilight, but they lost to Nicholas Hoult for his performance in Suburbia. In 2011, they received another nomination for the same role but lost to Michael Caine for his role in the film Mr. Turner. In 2012, they were nominated for Best Villain for their work in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Part 2 but lost to Tom Hardy for his role in the 2012 film The Drop. In 2013, they received a nomination for Best Villain for their role in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but they lost to Tom Hardy once again for his role in The Drop.
In 2014, they received a Best Villain nomination for their work in the crime film Gangster Squad but lost to Benedict Cumberbatch for his role in the drama The Imitation Game. In 2015, they received a Best Villain nomination for their role in the comedy-drama Knucklehead but lost to Michael Caine for his role in the biopic The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
On 7 January 2020, the International Music Awards announced that the band had been nominated for Best International Film & Television Act for their role in the film The Lads & The Bees.
Passenger
Passenger is a British rock band that formed in 1977 and is fronted by Robert Pattinson. The band’s sound has been variously described as post-punk, new wave, and gothic rock. They released their debut album, Signals, in 1981 and it was followed by another self-titled album in 1982. A third album, Romance was released in 1985 and, three years later, they released the soundtrack to the film Legend. In addition, they have also recorded several EPs. They played several festivals, including the Reading and Leeds, and they released a live album, entitled Live from London, in 2010. The band currently consists of Pattinson, Rupert Knox, and David Keegan.
Pattinson adopted the band as his own and he became interested in music after reading about Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the group The Doors, who used to drink whiskey and listen to the band during their performances. He has since become a prominent figure in the music world. In addition to his work with Passenger, he has also recorded several solo albums that were critically acclaimed. In particular, he recorded a spoken word album in 2014 and a concept album, titled Cosmo, about the universe in 2018.
