Last month, British actor Robert Pattinson turned 28. Since starring in the Twilight films, he’s become one of Hollywood’s most popular and in-demand leading men, landing a host of high profile roles including in Gucci Gucci and The Beach Bunny. One of the most famous and popular characters that Robert Pattinson played was that of the droll and debonair Mr. Darcy in the 2011 U.K. sitcom, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The role saw him shine on screen and won him widespread acclaim for his acting, with many praising his effortless delivery and charm. In 2017, he reprised the character for the big-budgeted movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. He also starred in the 2009 film, The Princess Diaries, which was set in 1960s London and featured a number of famous faces, including a young Helena Bonham Carter. In the film, he played British spy Michael Culverwell opposite Carter’s Princess Di. Additionally, he starred in 2008’s Twilight, based on the bestselling novel by Stephenie Meyer. Another well-received performance that won Robert Pattinson widespread acclaim was that of the anti-heroic Charles Baudelaire in the 2017 film, Gucci Gucci. The French period crime drama centered around fashion and the underworld also starred Italian actors Roberto Saviano and Giammario Sacco, with a cameo from Jeremy Irons. Gucci Gucci was screened at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, where it received the prestigious Prix de la Producers, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Costume Design. In 2016, he starred as boxer Georges Carpentier in the historical drama, Dirty Money. In 2011, he appeared in an episode of the popular U.K. teen soap opera, Skins, portraying British musician and artist Joe Cornish. Other roles include that of a drug addict in 2007’s The Romantics, and a gay man in the 2013 film, The Great Gatsby, opposite Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tobey Maguire.

The list of acclaimed roles that Robert Pattinson has appeared in would be incomplete without mentioning GQ. The fashion magazine published an article in 2017 showcasing 10 of the best dress codes and fashion trends of the year, with Robert Pattinson’s style making the list. The actor wore a number of outfits for the popular men’s magazine, including a striped yellow and blue polka dot dress, a pale-blue shirt and tie set, and an elegant black and white check suit.
Elton John Presents Christmas In July
In July, another of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor stars turned 28: English singer-songwriter and pianist Elton John. Since his hit song, Candle in the Wind, he’s become famous for his good looks and high energy performances, which have made him a Hollywood favorite. He’s starred in a number of popular films, from 1987’s The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep, opposite Mickey Rooney, to 2007’s Rocketman, with Terence Stamp. John also hosted the BBC’s annual television broadcast of the Royal Variety Performance, featuring A-list celebs, in 2018. One of Britain’s most loved and respected entertainers, he’s been romantically linked to women such as actress Renée Zellweger and supermodel Barion Forde. For his birthday in July, fans can look forward to seeing his iconic tweed jacket and checked shirt paired with high-waisted black jeans and red heels for women, or striped blue and white shirts and brown leather shoes for men.

In the same month, a third of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors turned 28: Alastair Mackenzie, better known as the Devil Wears Prada. The British actor has landed supporting roles in major films, such as Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and Baz Luhrmann’s The King, opposite Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman. He’s also starred in British TV shows, including The Great British Bake Off and Agatha Christie’s Dead Man’s Chest, and has had prominent roles in commercials for clients including Burberry, Prada, and Dior.
The Great Gatsby
Fashion, music, and literature are combined in one of the best films of the year and arguably one of the greatest romantic comedies ever made: the 2018 film The Great Gatsby. The story follows rich socialite Nick Carraway as he pursues his dream of becoming a successful writer. He meets the glamorous Myrtle Wilson and sparks immediately fly, culminating in the pair falling in love. The film also stars Robert Pattinson, who plays an English tutor named George, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan. The movie was adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic 1925 novel of the same name and was directed by Baz Luhrmann, whose previous works include 1996’s Romeo + Juliet and 2013’s The Great Gatsby. Like John, Mackenzie has proved popular among Hollywood’s A-listers and it was no surprise to see him named in Vogue’s Top 25 Most Eligible Bachelors list in 2018. The actor will be appearing in the upcoming film, The King, opposite Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell. This year, he was also featured on the cover of GQ’s Australia edition.
Barron’s 40
Barron’s, the investment magazine, has released its annual rich list, ranking the top 40 influencers and style leaders for their influence on the world of fashion and beauty. 2018’s list includes some big surprises, with several Hollywood stars making the top 40. Amongst the actresses, Gemma Arterton, who starred in the long-running BBC series, The Fall, came in at number 11, with Emma Stone at 24 and Charlize Theron at 29. Interestingly, a number of Australian actors made the top 40, including Bryan Brown at 11, Guy Pearce at 17, and Damon Gameau at 19. The list is a reflection of the influence that these renowned fashion leaders have had, with several calling them “the best of the best,” and an inspiration to many. This year’s ranking will undoubtedly cause quite the stir amongst the fashion community and could even make the headlines!
The Beach Bunny
The Australian actress and model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy made the headlines in April when it was announced that she was expecting a baby boy. Bruni-Sarkozy, who is a fluent French speaker, is a former member of French aristocracy and the daughter of the late French politician Georges Sarkozy. The 32 year old and her partner, French stylist Renato Ruggiero, made headlines around the world when it was revealed that she had swapped home cooking for cravings for raw food, which included the occasional meal ordered from a trendy restaurant. One of the most famous faces on the planet, Bruni-Sarkozy has graced the covers of all the major luxury fashion magazines, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and People. In June 2018, she opened a restaurant in the center of Paris. The eatery, which is called L’Hôtel de Bruni-Sarkozy, offers guests a chance to indulge in the French celebrity chef’s unique take on classic bistro fare, including escargot, snails, and frogs’ legs.
