Early Career Beginnings

Robin was born in London on November 3, 1971. She is the youngest of three children of Sir Andrew and Lady Antonia Pattinson. When she was just a year old, her family moved to Spain, where she grew up. This is where her career truly began. In 1985, she made her film debut in the Spanish coming-of-age film, La Habitacion 44. She played a supporting role in the film, which was based on a story by her mother. Robin’s other memorable early film roles include Kindergarten Cop (1990), in which she played John Denver’s love interest opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger; Jade (1991), a supernatural thriller about a Chinese woman who searches for the stolen soul of her grandfather; and Richardson (1999), an adaptation of John Grisham’s novel The Pelican Brief, in which she starred as a lawyer who successfully defends a man (Albert Finney) against corruption charges.
