Rob Pattinson’s January 2017 Calendar
Every year, we look forward to a fresh new calendar from the iconic designer. But, with the new year already started, we can now confirm that Rob Pattinson won’t be releasing a new calendar in 2017.
Instead, we’re being treated to an extended edition of his 2016 calendar. We’ve already begun to see some of the stand-out photos from his 2017 calendar. And, as exciting as this might be, it also means that we’ll be experiencing yet another year with out a new Pattinson calendar.
The good news is that we’re not going to have to wait until next year to see the designer’s new creations. As usual, he’s already begun to show off some of his upcoming projects in advance.
First up is his new fragrance, Rob Paterson, which is set to be released in the second half of 2017. As well as being named after the designer, the fragrance will also be available in a limited edition of 100,000 bottles.
And, in a move which will surprise many of his fans, the designer has chosen to release his new fragrance, Elle, a year and a half after his last fragrance, Mountford. Although he’s never explained his reasoning for this huge gap in releasing, it’s most probably because he wanted to offer something uniquely personal to meet the needs of the individual customer.
We do know that Rob will be continuing to work with perfumers, including some of the most famous French perfume houses, to create new scents. So, we’re in store for a treat, as the designer is always quick to introduce us to new smells.

Thanks to the Association Fragrance (A.F.), created in 1912 by Houbigant, and the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), we can track down the original fragrance for Richemont: Van Cleef. Yes, Van Cleef! It’s an extremely strong scent with a bit of a burnt oatmeal muddle that starts off a little weak and develops into a big puddle in your nose. Not your average aftershave, this scent was first purposed for the special occasions of a male cleaning his shirt (or javelin) upon coming in contact with the flesh.

After Van Cleef, it’s not exactly a discovery that most fragrances are designed for men. Yes, fragrances are here to please the senses of men and women, but the main focus remains on the latter. In fact, between the years 1912 and 1945, only a handful of fragrances were designed specifically for females.

The second half of the 20th century saw a radical shift in the way fragrances were developed. During this time, women began to assert their independence, breaking the traditional mummy and daddy stereotypes.
