GQ Cover Fashion Rules
In GQ’s latest cover story, Rob shares his thoughts on fashion. The British model turned actor opens up about what he wants from fashion houses and designers:
- Functional
- Comfort
- Longevity
- Sustainability
In addition, he offers some practical tips on how to achieve these things:
Tips For Men
Taking his cue from the functionalists of the 1920s and the hippies of the 1960s, Rob suggests that men should look for clothing that can be both functional and fashionable, such as the leather jacket he wears on the cover of GQ.
He also advocates for looking at fashion from a “genderless” perspective, arguing that women should not be excluded from considering fashion rules.
“Women need to step up and say ‘this is what I want, this is what I don’t want,’” Rob tells GQ. “They should ask themselves questions about what they want and don’t want, whether it’s something functional or from a specific era. Then men can go back and look at what was popular and go from there. It’s not about one gender or the other – it’s about everyone.”
Overall, Rob’s perspective on style is refreshing. He wants to see sustainable, long-lasting fashion made readily available to everyone, and he feels that fashion houses should be required to consider the environment when making their product.
