The Trailer

Check out the new trailer for Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Julius Onah. The film opens in theaters on April 12, 2017.

As the trailer opens, we cut to Robert Pattinson in an office setting reviewing some documents. He looks incredibly uncomfortable in his business attire, and it is made even more apparent through his expressive gestures and body language. The camera follows him as he moves to a table where he places stacks of documents and starts going through them. It is a slow and tedious process that continues for several minutes as he goes through each paper. His body language and facial expressions give the impression that he does not feel comfortable in his surroundings. In an attempt to break the deadlock, a secretary enters the room and interrupts him. She is clearly flustered as she tries to maintain her composure while also asking if he can give her a moment of his time. He eventually takes a call from someone on a business matter, and after he hangs up, the secretary hands him a manila envelope, saying that it just arrived for him. He looks at it, puzzled, and she explains that it was sent by a messenger and that the envelope is now unsealed. He opens the envelope and inside is a photograph of a young man wearing a Batman costume and holding a bat. It is a striking image that immediately draws the viewer’s attention. Pattinson’s reaction is one of mild amusement as he looks at the picture and then back at the secretary. He finally asks if there is anything else she can help him with before she leaves the room. As she walks out, he continues looking at the photo and then the envelope. The camera lingers on his face as he slowly tears open the manila envelope and starts to look at the letter and the photograph that came with it. The film cuts to black as he continues to go through the documents on his desk, seemingly lost in thought. The shot slowly dissolves into a close-up of the photo as he becomes engrossed in the image before him. We then see that it is Batman’s 75th anniversary and that the photo was taken in London during that time. The date and location of the photo is also revealed as London, April 29, 2017.

Robert Pattinson

While many actors have tried their hand at playing the superhero, only a select few have fully embraced the character. Robert Pattinson is one of those people. The actor is known for portraying a range of characters, from romantic leads in high-profile film adaptations to comic book characters, but there is always one that is more suited to his personality. For his next role, Pattinson will play the role of Batman in the upcoming film, Batman V Superman. The project will connect the worlds of Batman and Superman for a shared cinematic universe and will mark the very first time that Batman and Superman have ever appeared on the big screen together.

Batman has been around for more than 80 years, with his debut in an iconic 1939 film. He has since starred in dozens of films and generated a massive fanbase. In more recent years, director Christopher Nolan built a cinematic universe around the character, which was later adopted by other directors and film studios. One of the most recent adaptations is the highly successful 2016 film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A widely-acclaimed effort that grossed over $650 million at the worldwide box office, the 2016 film represented a turning point for the character. Not only did it introduce a new generation to Batman, but it also established that he was a major figure in the DC Comics universe and one of the most prominent superheroes of all time.

Pattinson has been vocal about his love for the character and his desire to play Batman. During a 2016 Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, the actor shared a humorous anecdote about his audition for the role of Batman. He was asked about his previous involvement with comic books and whether he’d ever considered playing the superhero. Pattinson revealed that he’d been offered the role of Batman in a comedy back in the 1980s, and he went on to thank the Reddit user who told him about the role. He continued, “I’ve gone through so many phases with Batman. I’ve tried to make you understand how much I truly enjoy this character. I don’t know if it’s the character or the actor, but I love playing Batman.”

Pattinson’s love for Batman goes beyond acting. The actor is a self-confessed gearhead who owns a huge collection of over 150 Batman items, many of which are on display throughout his house. The collection includes hats, tumblers, and posters, among other things. It would seem that the actor is taking his love of Batman very seriously indeed.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is the ultimate grand-daddy of the modern-day superhero. Over the years, the actor has played many prominent characters in films and on TV, and it would seem that he is truly enjoying his role as Lex Luthor. Freeman portrays the brilliant genius who is secretly seeking to become president of the United States. The role has been a departure for the actor, who rarely plays villains, and he has expressed his delight at playing a character with such dark motivations. During a press conference before the 2016 film was released, Freeman compared Luthor to another character he had played, J.R. Ewing, from the hit television series, The Walking Dead. “It allows me to play a character that I’ve never been able to play. It’s the best of both worlds. We get to explore new things while still playing a character I’ve always loved to play,” he said. Although Batman has been around for over 80 years, Freeman is likely to be the first to bring the character into the modern era with his portrayal. Fans of the Dark Knight will not want to miss this exciting new development.

Jesse Eisenberg

Arguably one of the biggest surprises of Batman v Superman was the casting of Jesse Eisenberg in the role of Lex Luthor. The actor is known for his roles in The Social Network, The Squid and the Whale, and Noah. Eisenberg portrays a meek and mild-mannered academic who slowly turns into a cunning and ruthless businessman. Not only does he adopt the trappings of a billionaire, but he also possesses tremendous physical and mental strength. The choice to cast Eisenberg in the role was a bold one, but it seems that Zack Snyder and the Warner Bros. team had their eyes set on the actor from the beginning.

According to an interview with Time, Snyder was actually planning on having Steve Buscemi play Luthor, but he agreed to do the film only if they could get Eisenberg. In order to land the role, the studio needed to convince Eisenberg that they were not just any studio, but were the ones who could make his dream come true. The director of photography on the film, Matthew Libatique, stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that it was important for the film to feel like a “legitimacy picture,” adding that he sought to evoke the spirit of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. He said, “I didn’t want it to feel like a summer movie or a comic book movie. I wanted it to feel like a legitimate Batman movie.”

With so much character development in a relatively short amount of screen time, it seems that Lex Luthor will be a much-changed character by the end of the film. Early reports suggest that Eisenberg’s portrayal of the character is very much in line with his known personality, displaying qualities such as intelligence and cunning. His relationship with Clark Kent is also likely to be a major element of the story. While some fans may be concerned that the film will focus too much on Clark Kent and not enough on Batman, there is certainly enough action to keep these diehard fans fully satisfied. One thing is for sure: with these four main characters, it will be essential for screenwriters to find a way to tie every story together.
