Why Zac Efron
You might be familiar with Zac Efron as he stars alongside Logan Lerman in the upcoming blockbuster film, The Greatest Showman. If you’re reading this, I assume you’ve taken a look at it. If not, go rent it now!
The film is based on the true story of P.T. Barnum, whose “Greatest Show on Earth” was the predecessor to today’s modern-day amusement parks. In the film, Efron plays Arthur, a struggling artist forced to find work during the Great Depression. He becomes involved in a scam to help pay off his gambling debts, which eventually leads to him being hired as the attractions manager of a circus that Barnum is turning into his own vision of a “Greatest Show”.
What made you decide to check out The Greatest Showman instead of watching one of the many other films starring Efron?
Well, I’m not sure what attracted me to The Greatest Showman in the first place. I think it might have been the fact that Logan Lerman, who plays Barnum in the film, also stars in the movie as Efron’s love interest. Since this is an “underdog coming out party” kind of thing, I guess I could see how it could appeal to someone like me. But I’d recommend skipping over to Netflix instead and watching one of the other great romance sagas involving famous people like Hilary Swank and Johnny Depp.
Why R. P. Pattinson
If you’re a fan of the Twilight Saga, you’ll recognize R. P. Pattinson, who plays the role of Edward Cullen in the franchise. Pattinson has gone on to act in many other films, but he is best known for his work in the Twilight films, which earned him an Academy Award nomination. He also stars in the upcoming film, The Personal History of David Copperfield, alongside Michelle Dockery and Hugh Grant. Most recently, he played the role of King George in The King’s Man, which was released last year.
Pattinson decided to take a break from acting for a while so that he could focus on producing and writing. However, in 2017, he made his acting comeback in the limited series, Devil’s Playground. Most recently, he has starred in the film, What You Made, as well as the Netflix series, The House of Gucci. He will next be seen in the upcoming films, The Magician’s Apprentice and The King’s Man, alongside Jackie Chan. With so much exposure in such a short amount of time, it’s not hard to see why Pattinson is the darling of Hollywood.
The two actors’ acting careers have taken them all over the world, but they’ve mostly stayed out of the spotlight. Since their careers were made in relative peace, they’ve been able to maintain a relatively low-profile. For the most part, their personal lives have stayed out of the headlines. However, in recent years, it seems like both their lives have been turned into public discourse. In 2016, Efron and Pattinson were both in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Efron was arrested for domestic violence, and later that year, Pattinson was arrested for the possession of ecstasy. The pair later entered a plea agreement and were sentenced to community service.
The Results
Based on what we know so far, it seems like these two are meant to be together. The question is: Does it matter? Efron and Pattinson have been together for almost two decades and have two successful kids (Efron has a daughter, Esme, with ex-wife Hilary Swank). The two regularly appear in public together and promote each other’s causes, whether it’s animal welfare or LGBTQ rights. Many fans have expressed their excitement about Efron and Pattinson’s reunion, and it looks like Hollywood might be on to something.
On the other hand, it’s not quite as clear what will happen to these two film stars’ personal lives. It seems like there will always be some kind of media attention surrounding these two, no matter what. Unless, of course, they want to remain private citizens.
