After the massive success of the ‘Twilight’ series, fans were eagerly anticipating the follow-up. Early Life
Robert William Pattinson was born on June 5, 1986 in London, England. He is the only child of renowned English actress Jane Birkin and musician Jim Pattinson. His godfather is artist and filmmaker Keith Haring. Pattinson’s parents met while filming ‘The Cook, The Thief, His Daughter and The Grand Tour’ in Italy in 1974. The movie, which also starred his mother, was a major success and won several international awards. Since then, the actress has appeared in a variety of films and TV shows.
The young Robert spent the first part of his life living with his parents in London. After that, he went to live with his maternal grandparents in Oxfordshire. It was while spending part of the year in Oxfordshire that he began taking an interest in acting. He would attend the local theater and watch films with his grandparents. Pattinson made his acting debut in 2009 in the British crime film ‘Mortdecai’, which was based on the novel by Howard Jacobson. The next year, he appeared in ‘The Rover’, a movie directed by Shane Black. The following year he appeared in ‘Dredd’, which was also directed by Black. In 2011, he starred in the movie ‘Water’, which also starred Nicole Kidman and Rachel Weisz. It was one of the first big-budget movies to be filmed entirely in 3-D. Having never been married, Pattinson has focused on his personal life and his interests outside of acting. He enjoys traveling, meeting new people, and being with family. He also loves to cook, which he demonstrated in 2013 when he released a cookbook with recipes inspired by his favorite films. He tries to stay active by going for walks, playing sports, and working out. The English actor enjoys a good glass of wine and has been known to sip champagne on occasion while on set. He’s even partnered with an olive oil company to promote olive oil and its health benefits.
