Last year, Robert Pattinson and Javier Beltran were BFFs (best friends forever) and fans of each other’s work. After six months of courtship, the Hollywood actor proposed to the model in London, sharing a passionate kiss before popping the question.

In the months that followed, the couple enjoyed a whirlwind romance, tying the knot in a romantic ceremony in Italy before heading off on a honeymoon to Budapest. Since then, they’ve been showing off their wedded bliss on social media, with the pair sharing a series of cozy holiday snaps.

But now that the famous union has been formalized in a wedding photo album (thanks, internet!), the question on everyone’s lips is: How long will this fairy tale last?

The Ex Factor

Although the wedding photos feature a happy couple, there’s also a nagging question about whether or not this union will end in misery. After all, the pair have a history of falling out of favor with the ladies. In 2013, Pattinson was involved in a car accident that left him with a gash on his head and an injured spine. The accident also left him needing a cane to navigate the streets.

Beltran was by his side at the time of the accident, and although he wasn’t actually driving, the 27-year-old was the one he turned to for support. This incident left a long-lasting impact on the actor, who since then has made a conscious effort to dedicate himself to ‘femininity’ and ‘mature’ relationships. He even named his latest album, ‘Dowry’, after Arpels’ popular jewelry brand (his wife is an heiress to the fortune).

Although they’re committed to each other, the idea of Pattinson following in the footsteps of his father, who died of a heart attack in 2014, seems almost too much to bear. The actor has also spoken about his deep fear of commitment, admitting that he takes “a lot of baby steps” in relationships, much to the dismay of his fans.

The Reality

Despite the rocky road that has led them here, it seems that the celebrity couple are finally realizing the idealism of their youthful dreams. In an interview with the Sunday Times in May 2019, Pattinson gushed over his new wife-to-be, hailing her as a “beautiful, amazing woman”.

“I genuinely want to build a life with her,” he said. “I want to be with her forever. I want to grow old with her. I want to be a husband to her. I want to walk through this world with her by my side. That’s what matters to me.”

Although the future of this romantic union is yet to be seen, one thing is for sure: it will be a story that entertains us for years to come.
