We want to start by apologizing for not having an amazing story to tell you today. Truth be told, we had a really great idea for an article but somehow it all fell apart. What happened was, we had the chance to sit down with Robert Pattinson to discuss all things Batman and Robin, specifically. As you may have guessed, we were pretty nervous but it turned out to be one of the most interesting experiences we’ve ever had. Let’s just say that it would have been nice to have something more creative to share with you, our dear reader. But since we don’t, I hope this article lets you have an idea of what was said and how things shook out.
The Interview
We started by asking about his experiences as Batman and Robin. He said that he always wanted to play the character but that playing two roles was much more difficult. Even though he wasn’t the only actor playing the roles, he felt like he had to represent himself in a more serious way. He also added that he enjoys the way the comics treat the characters. It’s not very often that you see a picture of Robin in full costume, especially not in an interview (hehe). When asked about the possibility of appearing as Batman again, he said that he wouldn’t mind it because he still enjoys the characters but that he hasn’t been asked yet. He also talked about a movie he’d like to see adapted from the comics, specifically Silver Surfer because he finds it a lot of fun.
The Experience
As you may have guessed, we had a lot of experience with Batman and Robin. Back in the day, we ran a comics store and we became pretty attached to the characters. It was also around the time when Batman became one of the most popular movies ever made, which is a feat in itself. When we saw that Robert Pattinson was going to be playing Batman, we were pretty excited because we thought it would be such a great opportunity to meet and talk with the famous actor. When we finally saw the finished product, the truth was, we were a bit disappointed. While we found the likeness completely accurate, we felt like they could have gone further with the character and given him more depth. This was mainly because we feel like they didn’t want to make him too serious or they might have ruined the whole movie. But regardless, it was still another great opportunity to talk to the famous Mr. Pattinson. Here’s a picture of him holding a replica of the batarang that he used in the movie:
What we mainly hope for is that you, our dear reader, feel the same way about this encounter that we do. While it was a great talk with a very interesting person, we don’t want to give too much importance to it because we’re sure there are many other fascinating people out there who we’d like to meet and talk with.
