It’s that time of year again. The release of the annual TV Guide Magazine rankings of the Top 100 Dramas of All Time has arrived. We can happily report that The Vampire Diaries reigns supreme as the No. 1 show, and for the first time ever, it’s not tied with another series. While we may not always like how the show ends (and we’re certainly disappointed that it’s over), we have to admit that it’s a pretty great ride while it lasted. Since its premiere in October 2013, The Vampire Diaries has become one of the most popular series in TV history, currently averaging over 17.2 million viewers per season. The series stars Nina Dobrev as Elena, a young woman who has to choose between her love for her longtime boyfriend Jeremy (Steven Weber) and her feelings for vampire Damon (Ian Somerhalder). While most of America (and Canada) were still on edge from the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the CW aired the first of its final season specials, giving us an early look at how Damon and Elena’s story would end. We’re sad to see the series go, but it’s probably for the best. If you’re looking for something fresh and unique, definitely give The Vampire Diaries a try.
How Much Does a Couple Make Per Episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries’?
You may be wondering how much money you’ll actually make as an actor on The Vampire Diaries. While we can’t give you an exact number, we can tell you how much the average couple makes per episode. According to the 2019 TV Guide Magazine rankings of the Top 100 Dramas of All Time, a couple makes an estimated $76,400 per episode. Let’s take a look:
What Is The Average Teenage Girl’s Attention Span?
The answer may surprise you. According to a recent study from TikTok, the average teenage girl’s attention span is only eight seconds. That’s right. Eight seconds. The study also found that only 12% of respondents could concentrate on a video for more than 10 minutes. You’d think that with so many social media platforms available today, teenagers would have endless amounts of time to scroll through their feed. Guess not. These findings make it clear that if you want to keep the viewers you have, you need to keep them interested. One way to do that is by constantly refreshing your content with new material. Luckily, that’s exactly what the cast of The Vampire Diaries does. As we mentioned above, the show recently aired its final season premiere, giving us a look back at the adventures of Damon and Elena. In fact, the entire first episode was a retrospective, taking us back to the beginning of their relationship. This effectively brings the total episode count to 22, making it the longest-running vampire series of all time. The only show that comes close is The Vampire Chronicles with a total episode count of 23. In other words, if you’re looking for a series that will keep you hooked for the whole hour, give The Vampire Diaries a try. It’s the perfect series for short attention spans.
Who Are The Least Popular Characters In ‘The Vampire Diaries’?
It’s no secret that The Vampire Diaries isn’t exactly a favorite among fans of the series. In fact, some people may even go as far as to call Damon and Jeremy the show’s worst offenders. It seems that these two characters are the reason behind many of the show’s fan-favorite quirks. For example, many people enjoy watching Elena dance, which she does often to make up for the fact that she’s a vampire. Sometimes she even dances for no reason at all, just to have some fun. Some other fans may appreciate Damon’s sarcastic nature and love his witty banter with Jeremy. It may even be that the show’s female viewers enjoy watching Elena struggle with her feelings for Jeremy. In any case, it seems that Damon and Jeremy are the least popular characters in The Vampire Diaries, which is a shame, because they are one of the show’s great highlights. It would be interesting to see how many people would watch the series if these two characters didn’t exist.
Why Do People Hate ‘The Vampire Diaries’?
In short, because it’s too different. If you’re not into vampires, there’s a good chance that you’ll dislike The Vampire Diaries. In the words of one YouTube user, “If you thought your Instagram feed was weird, just wait until you try watching ‘The Vampire Diaries’.” While this series may be geared toward an older audience, it is important to note that even adults may find some of its content disturbing. In the words of another commenter, “I thought it was ok until the last season… but I don’t think I’m going to watch it again.” This definitely isn’t a show for everybody. If you’re curious about what all the fuss is about, take a look at some of the more controversial topics that the series touches on. There’s also the issue of vampires not being portrayed as attractive. While sometimes some of the characters do manage to find love, it’s not exactly a plot point that appeals to everyone. Of course, we can’t blame the series for wanting to explore these types of issues. As the show’s creator, Amy Brenneman, told Entertainment Tonight, “I want people to come away feeling like it’s opened a door for them to think about issues they may be facing in their own lives.” While The Vampire Diaries may not be for everybody, it’s important to remember that it’s a TV series. It’s not real life. It’s fiction. As long as you keep that in mind, you may find that it’s actually a useful tool in your quest for mental health and personal growth. We’d like to think that even if you don’t agree with everything that the series has to say, you’ll at least find something useful in it.
Whatever your reasons for watching or not watching The Vampire Diaries, there’s no denying that it’s one of the most popular shows on television today. As we’ve established, it’s the No. 1 show of all time in the rankings of the 2019 TV Guide Magazine, the show’s star couple, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, were recently married, and it’s currently in the middle of its seventh season. It seems that regardless of the fact that it’s over, it always seems to find a new audience. This is a show that just keeps on giving. We recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for something different. It may not be for everybody, but it’s definitely worth a watch.
