If you’re a Marvel fan, then this year’s slate of movies is one not to be missed. The studio has given us nine premieres and two Christmas Day screenings in April and May. In addition to the latest installment in the Avengers series, there is also Doctor Strange, which is part of the MCU, along with Ironman, Black Widow, and other heroes and villains within the larger Marvel cinematic universe. Not only does this make for some incredible moviegoing, but it also gives fans more characters and stories to dive into. Before we dive into the details, here’s how to watch the New York premiere of The Avengers.

The Avengers Will Be Screened At A Special Premier

The Avengers will be shown at a special premiere in New York on April 19. The film will be opened to the public on April 23. To celebrate the premiere of this highly anticipated film, there will be many fun events leading up to it including a red carpet premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre on April 18, an advance screening at the Angelika Film Center on April 19, and a Reddit Ask Me Anything session with director Joss Whedon on April 20.

The first Avengers movie came out in 2012 and since then, not one but two Infinity Stones have been found and one of them was lost and found on screen. Naturally, all of this will be addressed in the new film. In fact, it might be the central conflict of The Avengers. A villainous group called the Dark Elves have found the Mind Stone and are using it to create an army of superpowered soldiers. The only way to stop them is for the Avengers to work together and find the remaining six Stones. Even with the Infinity Stones and all of the other incredible material in the MCU, Whedon has said that this is still a group of heroes we meet “for the first time.” It’s fitting that Marvel’s biggest all-star team up yet will be introduced to us in such a fashion.

Ironman 3 Is The Last Of The Marvel Movie Treasures

This year hasn’t been kind to Marvel fans. The studio released two massive movies in January and February that opened to overwhelmingly negative reviews. While Marvel has traditionally released their big movies in the spring, this year they pushed back the premiere of Black Panther until February 16. However, that wasn’t the case for the other two movies. They premiered in theaters three weeks earlier than expected. In a last ditch attempt to save the day, Marvel decided to release one last hurrah this year with the theatrical premiere of Ironman 3 on April 12. It seemed like a brilliant idea until it was realized that this would be the final Marvel movie released in theaters. The final trailer for the much-maligned Avengers: Infinity War dropped just moments before the film’s premiere on April 19. With all of these delays and last-minute changes, it’s fair to say that it’s not been an easy 2020 for Marvel fans.

What Should You Watch Next?

With all of the delays and last-minute changes that we discussed above, it’s easy to be concerned about the future of Marvel movies. The year 2021 will bring us two new Spiderman movies, the fourth solo outing of Black Widow, and the long-awaited sequel to Venom. Of course, there will also be another Avengers outing as well as a Doctor Strange sequel. It’s not easy to anticipate what will happen next given all of the changes that have been made. The good news is that we will almost certainly see the MCU grow and evolve in ways that we have not yet seen
