It’s been a year since the birth of his son, Lowell, and Chris Pattinson has been a hands-on father, making him one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors. Since his split from Victoria Beckham, he has quietly worked his way back into the public eye, with a string of famous relationships including a Hollywood Night Out with Emily Blunt, Cara Delevingne and Sienna Miller in January 2020 and more recently, an incredible night out with girlfriend Rose Leslie and their baby boy Jack in April.

His Ex-Wife’s Grandfather Was Sir Winston Churchill

Chris was born in Kent, England and grew up in a large family, with five other siblings. His father was a stockbroker and his mother, Pamela, is a descendant of Britain’s greatest hero, Sir Winston Churchill. The famous statesman is known to have quipped, “No woman should be allowed to control a man’s destiny… especially when she’s trying to control his finances!”

After going to university in England, Chris moved to London to be with Victoria, whom he had met while studying at Oxford. The couple’s engagement was a secret that was only revealed years later, when Pamela reportedly said “I do” to the proposal – although not at the wedding. The couple married in 2005 and had a son together, Lowell, in 2006.

A Classic Voyage

At the height of his Hollywood fame, Chris featured on the cover of British Vogue with model Emily Blunt. In the cover story, Emily documents her first-hand experience of dating the English bachelor on a luxury yacht cruise around the Mediterranean with friends. “I remember being in total disbelief that, just when I thought my life couldn’t get any more exciting, it did,” she says.

Their relationship is undoubtedly one of the most prominent since the start of the year. The couple met on the set of 2013’s The Waterhouse Project, with Chris playing the role of Jack’s father and Victoria serving as his acting coach. The pair began a secret affair and made it official when they tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in St Lucia in October 2015. The wedding was a low-profile affair, with just a small number of guests, close friends, and journalists. In addition to their twins, Georgia and Beckett, the pair have three sons, Thomas, 12, Henry, 9, and Lowell, 3, from an earlier relationship with Victoria’s ex James Whitchurch.

He Was Once Arrested For Punching A Bartender During An Argument

In 2017, Chris was arrested in Los Angeles for punching a man in the face after a drunken row at a bar. According to the police report seen by TMZ, Chris was at the Sky Bar at the Sunset Marquis hotel when he began yelling and arguing with the bartender over the drink selection. Things soon turned violent when Chris punched the bartender in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. While the bartender was only slightly injured, Chris was charged with assault and battery. The incident was reported to the LAPD, who classified it as a misdemeanor.

The arrest came shortly after Chris was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Henry in The Lost Honour of Christopher Johnson. At the time of the incident and throughout his time dating Victoria, Chris was very much a gentleman, often taking the initiative to pay for tickets for others or buying drinks for friends. The punch-ups were apparently just a side to him that no one saw, but it seems this behaviour culminated in his violent outburst against the bartender.

He Wrote A Letter To Victoria Beckham After They Had A Baby Scare

Just over a year ago, the world was shaken by the birth of Victoria Beckham’s and Chris Pattinson’s second child, a baby girl they named Marjorie. At the time, the couple were on holiday in St Barts, where Marjorie was born. However, after welcoming their second child, the pop icon reportedly began feeling insecure, with her father’s connections and fame offering her increased exposure and pressure. In response, Chris penned an emotional letter to Victoria, expressing his love and concern for her and their daughter.

“I want you to know that I am here for you and that I will do anything to give you peace and happiness,” he wrote. “You have given me a brilliant daughter and I am so proud to be her dad. I love you both so much.” The letter was reported by The Sun and published in January 2019.

He Has One Of The Most Luxurious Lifestyles

Since dating Victoria and forming a united front with her against the world, Chris has grown his personal wealth by a whopping £100 million. The extra cash has helped him purchase several properties around the world, including a 50-room mansion in south London, an 11-bedroom abode in Portugal’s Algarve, a 35-metre superyacht, and an 11-bedroom villa in St Barts. During an interview with The Times in February 2019, he revealed he spends around three months each year living in a different country residence, adding a string of luxuries to his list, including a personal masseuse, a full-time nanny, and a cook. A source close to the couple confirmed to People that the list of ‘posh tastes’ was indeed compiled by Chris, with his favourite things including “a full complement of butlers, private chefs, masseuses and personal shoppers”.

He Has Been Involved In Several High-Profile Suits

In addition to helping his wife and mother-in-law with the upbringing of their children, Chris has also gotten involved in several high-profile cases. In 2006, he was named as an expert witness in the fraud trial of British Airways cabin crew member Natalie Hitchon. The defendant is alleged to have stolen £4.2 million from the airline, with Chris testifying that he had trusted her with the finances of his business, Waterstone International, alone on a trip to Barcelona. In 2008, he was one of a number of celebrities who were sued for allegedly sharing a friend’s details without permission. Chris was among the 100 British and North American individuals listed in the lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The suit accused 100 defendants, including Chris, of hacking into the plaintiff’s Apple iCloud account and stealing her personal data, including emails and voicemails.

He Is One Of The Most In-Demand Personal Stylists

Since the birth of his son, Lowell, Chris has focused on raising their children as a single father. But that hasn’t stopped him from finding time to work. In 2019, he began appearing in some of the biggest movies in theaters around the world. His first big screen appearance of the year was in Steven Spielberg’s World War II epic, The Secret Life of the World’s Most Famous Paintings. In the film, Chris plays the role of Dr Stephen Hawking, observing the war from the sidelines with his team of scientists.

In early 2020, Chris will be seen in the upcoming crime comedy thriller The Gucci Suit, as well as Joe Alsko-Frankland’s The Widow. He is repped by LINK Entertainment and Hamilton Hodell.

With so much going on in his life, Chris Pattinson certainly has enough to keep himself busy. But perhaps the most interesting fact about the Hollywood bachelor is that, at the end of the day, he still finds time for his hobbies. After all, who wouldn’t?
