The big question is: which movies will be released in 2019 and which ones will be out of release?
Well, the new year has already begun and the first major Hollywood movie of the year is already out. It’s been a while since we’ve seen something this exciting and looking forward to the new year!
The most anticipated movies this year include Black Panther (February 16), Avengers: Endgame (April 26), Aladdin (July 24), Joker (October 4) and Black Widow (April 19).
While some will be released in theaters, many more will be available on demand right away.
Which movies will be released in 2019? Let’s take a look.
Toy Story 4
One of the most beloved animated movies of all time is about to be released. So, it’s only natural that fans are looking forward to it as much as the next movie. And how could they not? It’s Toy Story !
The highly anticipated fourth installment in the popular Toy Story series is set to hit theaters on June 21st. It will be followed by Toy Story Land , a theme park based on the films that started it all, in Atlanta, GA on June 28th.
The latest entry in the Toy Story franchise features the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Annie Potts. It’s directed by Toy Story 3 master Sam Musko and follows the adventures of Woody, a wooden cowboy doll, and his friends Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Milo Mankiewicz as they try to save Woody’s diner from being demolished.
The Lion King
Another animated smash-hit is set to be released this year. The Lion King took the world by storm in 2018 and became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. It’s not hard to see why. The film is packed with unforgettable visuals, memorable characters and an incredible score by Elton John and Tim Rice !
The Lion King is directed by Jon Favreau and features an incredible voice cast that includes Donald Glover, Rami Malek, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Scarlett Johansson. The movie has since become one of Disney’s biggest and most popular franchises. It’s been followed by The Lion King part II (2020) and The Lion King part III (2021).

Dumbo
Back in 1935, Wilbur Wright wrote a letter to Congress demanding an injury compensation act for animals. The Dumbo story is loosely based on this and follows the adventures of an elephant named Dumbo who craves to be a part of the human world. He’s considered to be one of the greatest animated characters of all time and became a cultural icon in his own right. Many consider Dumbo to be one of Walt Disney’s greatest achievements. The movie won the Oscars in 2019 for Best Animated Feature and in 2008 Disney established the Tim Burton Award for Excellence in Character Animation and Design.
Disney On Ice Presents A Winter Dreams
While we can’t talk about The Lion King without mentioning Disney’s live-action/animation hybrid, Winter Dreams . It’s the 25th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney On Ice and the franchise returns with a beautiful showcase of their classics. The 20 + hour show is set for an Aug. 11th premiere at the Tokyo Disneyland. It will be followed by Walt Disney On Ice Presents Let’s Go exploring the many facets of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz to The Lion King in a second half.
2019 Cannes Film Festival: The Complete List
The 85th Cannes Film Festival kicked off late last month and wrapped up on June 12th. The event was attended by over 80,000 people over the course of 10 days. This year the Cannes Film Festival invited its biggest audience yet with a record-breaking 8,200 tickets allocated for the premiere of Black Panther… Again. The unprecedented ticket allocation was a result of demand fueled by the anticipation of seeing one of the most anticipated films of all time. The premiere was a huge success and was followed by a host of positive reviews.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The second sequel in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise is already out and has made a lot of fans extremely happy. While the first film received mixed reviews, almost everyone agreed that it was better than the average Spider-Man movie. The film’s premiere was also attended by President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump. Following the premiere the film broke several box office records, especially for a franchise movie.
Toy Story 4
The most anticipated animated movie of the year is Toy Story 4 . It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything this exciting and looking forward to the new year! As we’ve established, Toy Story is one of the most beloved movies of all time and it will be interesting to see how Toy Story 4 re-invents the wheel with unique characters and an innovative story that will keep audiences on the edge of their seat. In addition, Toy Story 4 contains one of the great musical performances of all time with Giovanni Ricotti on keyboards.
Aladdin
Another animated movie that has generated a lot of interest is Aladdin . It’s been a long wait for Jafar to be dethroned as the Disney villain and for Aladdin to take his place. Aladdin is the long-awaited and much-anticipated swan song for Robin Hood and his band of mischievous retailers. The movie is directed by Dan Filth and features the voices of Will Smith, James Vaughn, Marion Cotillard, and Navid Asad. The storyline sees Aladdin encountering Jafar, a menacing and power-hungry bad guy, who wants to steal Aladdin’s genie power and make him his slave. In an attempt to thwart the baddie’s plans, Aladdin must team up with a village of good guys, including Abu al-Zama , a magic genie himself, to defeat Jafar and restore peace to the city once and for all.
