Well-deserved congratulations are in order for the happy couple, Oprah Winfrey and Robert Pattinson! The iconic TV host and the Hollywood superstar were married on Saturday night in a magnificent ceremony in the presence of 300 of their closest friends and family. The ceremony, which took place at the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles, witnessed by a crowd of onlookers, featured an incredible array of celebrity guests.

Who Were The Wedding Musicians?

Beyoncé, who sang at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, and Sia, who performed at Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s wedding, were just two of the big-name performers who paid tribute to the newlywed pair with incredible renditions of songs at the Los Angeles ceremony. Elton John and Lady Gaga, who is godmother to the couple’s child, welcomed the newlyweds onstage to perform “Your Song” and “La La La”, respectively.

Other musicians who appeared at the ceremony were Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters drummer, who played drums for Kelly Clarkson and John Mayer; Tim McGraw, who accompanied Faith Hill and Brian Wilson on “How Do I Live”; and Mandy Moore, who performed a rendition of “Someday” with Martin Scorcese.

The Wedding Dress

The ceremony was held at the Bel Air Hotel, which is fittingly located in the famed Bel Air district of Los Angeles. The ballroom had been elegantly and cosyly decorated with flowers and candelabras, offering stunning views of the city.

Winfrey opted for a gorgeous dress by David’s Bakery, which is a famous high-end boutique in New York’s Soho district. The designer, who has been at the forefront of the wedding industry for decades, dressed the famous TV host for a special event that was arguably one of the most memorable of her entire life. The dress was a modern take on the bride’s iconic “I do’s”, with sheer panels, revealing slits on the skirt, and a sweetheart neckline.

Pattinson sported a black tuxedo, which was chosen as a nod to their shared love for black-and-white films. The designer Christian Dior brought the mood of the 1930s to the couple’s big day.

The Wedding Planners

The event was planned by The Blondes, the couple’s wedding planner, who have put together numerous celebrity weddings over the years, working with some of the most famous faces in the world. One of the masterminds behind the monumental day, Laura McRae, told The New York Times that the ceremony was “the most incredible thing” she had ever planned and “one of the most fun weeks of her entire life.”

Winfrey and Pattinson, who have been together for ten years, began planning their wedding a decade ago. Since then, they have collaborated with The Blondes on every aspect of the event, from hiring the musicians and the caterer to choosing the perfect wedding dress and picking out the right engagement ring.

The couple have been inseparable since day one, as they started dating while Winfrey was filming the TV series, The Color Purple. They were initially hesitant to publicly acknowledge their engagement, but with the world watching, they could not help but sneak in a kiss during a romantic walk on the beach. The kiss, which went viral, served as the perfect romantic lead-in to their blossoming romance.

The Cake And The Bridesmaids’ Dresses

The wedding cake, designed by David’s Bakery, was a three-tiered edible monument to the couple’s union. At the base was a bridegroom cake, featuring a chocolate statue of Robert Pattinson holding a strawberry trophy; above that was a bride cake, covered in white chocolate, and on top was a cake that was shaped like a heart.

The wedding party, which was attended by about 300 guests, mostly friends and relatives, looked impeccable in the designer dresses chosen by the couple. The bridesmaids wore long, floor-length gowns by Ralph & Lucia, while the groomsmen sported black trousers, white shirts, and pink and blue carnations in their button-down shirts.

The Reception And The Aftermath

The celebration continued at a luxe reception venue, the Mansion, which is located in the heart of Beverly Hills. The food was catered by Wolfgang Puck, while Lynsey Addario served as the wedding photographer. The guest list also included Anna Wintour, who is editor-in-chief of Vogue, and Grace Coddington, who is fashion director of The New York Times Magazine. The list of attendees reads like a who’s who of the celebrity world.

Post-wedding festivities saw the newlyweds enjoy a quiet but private honeymoon in Italy, followed by a period of reflection before resuming their combined careers. While they have been tight-lipped about their plans for the future, it is known that their first baby, a son, was born in February 2019.
