Most people have heard of Lady Gaga and her amazing, one-of-a-kind outfits. But did you know that Olivia Pattinson’s outfits and stage antics are just as important as Gaga’s?
Gaga is known for her outlandish outfits and unique styles; however, it was Olivia who first started to push the envelope when it came to fashion in 2015. In fact, back then Olivia was so determined to be different that she didn’t even care if people thought she was crazy!
Olivia began her fashion career in 2015 when she showed up to the Met Gala in a dress made entirely out of cake. It was an outfit so unique and out there that it went viral and made Olivia a celebrity in the process.
The 22-year-old has since gone on to show up to the Met Gala in a black hole surrounded by aliens (which she describes as “cosmic cake”), a wedding dress made from dinosaur vertebrae (no, we don’t get the joke either), and an outfit featuring a dead shark (also no joke).
If that wasn’t enough, Olivia later that year even wore a dress made out of upcycled textiles to the Golden Globes. She made a daring fashion statement and sent shock waves through the fashion world.
Olivia’s Daring Fashion Statements
The most recent incident in which Olivia made headlines came in January 2019 when she showed up at the Met Gala in a dress made entirely out of cake. This time, it was lemon cake and the outfit was inspired by the 2019 film, The Laundromat.
It was a daring fashion statement and one that spoke to everyone, regardless of gender and background. The fashion community erupted in praise for Olivia’s bold choice and shared her outfit on social media platforms like Twitter.
Olivia’s bold fashion choices are no accident. It seems that every single one of her outfits is meant to be a shocking statement. Back in 2015, Olivia made a bold fashion choice when she decided to show up to the Met Gala in a dress made entirely out of cake. At the time, she told Vogue, “I wanted to do something different and shocking…I think people will love it.”
Olivia’s 2015 Met Gala dress made out of cake was so out there that it went viral. The fashion community and social media users alike couldn’t get enough.
It seems that Olivia has become more and more confident in her fashion choices over the years. In addition to going viral at the Met Gala, her 2015 choice also made headlines when she wore it to the Golden Globes. When she showed up to the 2019 Met Gala, she did so in a dress made entirely out of cake, which was yet another bold fashion statement. It seems that Olivia is doing fashion one-upsmanship with each new outfit and we can’t get enough.
Olivia’s Style Inspirations
Although Olivia isn’t new to showing up in shocking fashion statements, she has actually been breaking boundaries when it comes to her style for years. Back in 2014, she began exploring fashion boundaries and was inspired by famous faces from the past. In fact, she even went so far as to recreate their looks and create her own unique style.
Olivia’s style has been described as “retro cool” and she has cited celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Little Audrey as inspirations. She told Hello! Magazine in 2014 that she aims to “bring a little bit of vintage Hollywood style to [her] fashion choices.” So, it seems that Olivia is a self-confessed style genius who aims to shock and awe with her outfits and she isn’t afraid to admit it. Let’s be honest—we wouldn’t be surprised if Olivia became the next big style icon.
Olivia’s Future in Fashion
Olivia isn’t your typical fashion superstar. She is self-confessed to having a “thing” for unlikely fashion combinations, risky fashion statements, and unique style choices. It seems that she doesn’t mind walking the line between fashionable and shocking.
While the future of fashion may not be quite as bright as some would have you believe, it seems that Olivia is here to show us that there is more than one way to blend fashion and controversy. Back in January 2019, it was revealed that Olivia will be playing Greta Garbo in a biopic directed by George Lazenby (brother of James). It was also revealed that Olivia’s character in the movie will be based on Garbo’s real-life personality. The role will mark Olivia’s debut as an actress.
