There’s been a lot of talk in recent years about pop culture’s obsession with love triangles. But few celebrity couples have been as committed to keeping their privacy as closely guarded as Anna Kendrick and Ben Falcone. The funny and talented actress and her entrepreneur hunk, respectively, have been dating since 2013 and 2019. They’ve been spotted together around Los Angeles and in Falcone’s hometown of Richmond, VA, but they’ve been exceptionally private about their romance. While other celebrities have spilled the beans about their relationships, Kendrick and Falcone have kept their relationship under the radar. And it’s worked: Their fans have long been enamored with their adorable Instagram stories and tweets, and their romance has mostly stayed spoiler-free. But now, thanks to a new exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, their love story is about to be uncovered. On June 4, the V&A Museum will open I LOVE BEN FALCONE: An Exhibition Featuring the Collected Works of Anna Kendrick and Robert Pattinson. The exhibition marks the first time that fans at the global museum will be able to learn more about the couple’s romance, thanks to a remarkable collection of vintage photos, original sketches, production designs, and more.

Their Early Years

While Anna Kendrick and Ben Falcone were never formally introduced, they both come from very humble beginnings. Falcone was born in Richmond, VA, in 1985 and started developing an interest in art and design while serving as a batallion in the U.S. Army during his early 20s. After being honorably discharged, he decided to pursue a career in art management. He worked his way up from the mailroom to become the head of a publicity and marketing agency before co-founding a production company, Design Management Group, with his wife, Elle. With his newfound freedom and creative outlet, Falcone began designing album covers for independent artists, which eventually led to him and Kendrick collaborating on an album cover for rapper Meek Mill in 2017. Since then, they’ve worked together to design album covers for a number of high-profile artists, including Jaden Smith, Lil Nas X, and Miley Cyrus. The two have also lent their talents to graphic novels and comic books, collaborating on designs for Marvel and DC comics. In 2019, Falcone was named one of Richmond’s Hottest Bachelors.

For her part, Anna Kendrick was born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 4, 1990 and moved to Southern California at a young age. She began acting at the age of four and began performing on Broadway at the age of twelve. She’s since appeared in a number of TV shows and films, including Marvel Studios’ Black Widow and Disney’s Aladdin, the 2019 remake of The Lion King, and the Harry Potter series. Most recently, she starred in the indie film Motherless Brooklyn for Netflix.

The duo met while working on the album cover for Meek Mill and instantly clicked. In a 2018 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Falcone spoke about their collaboration, saying, “I met Anna while working on the Meek Mill album cover. There were a lot of similarities between us — including our mutual love of all things British — so we started hanging out and working together. It was a natural fit.” The designer added that they were immediately drawn to each other’s creative energy and “wanted to do something that was more personal and unique.”

Designing A Album Cover

The exhibition features a number of the couple’s most beautiful and memorable collaborations, including the cover art for Kendrick’s Grammy-nominated album, Thankful. For her part, Kendrick is extremely grateful for all that Falcone has done for her and her music, calling him her “best friend in the world.” She added, “designing an album cover for me was like painting a masterpiece. It was such a unique experience.”

Falcone and Kendrick worked with various artists and manufacturers to bring the designs to life, incorporating technology and traditional methods of artistry into their design process. For Kendrick’s Grammy-winning album, she wanted to tackle topics of female empowerment and black pride head-on and drew from personal experience to paint a gritty and authentic picture of a young black woman’s journey. She tapped top-notch artists and designers to help her bring her vision to life, including Kid Chocolate, a Berlin-based chocolate brand; hip-hop fashion designer Kenneth Cole; and British luxury goods brand Aquascutum for the album’s cover.

A Private Day For Two

While many famous couples have used their celebrity to showcase their relationship and promote their brands, Kendrick and Falcone have worked hard to keep their personal life separate from their professional one. They’ve rarely given interviews and have always shied away from the limelight, opting to keep their personal life relatively private. On April 20, 2020, they quietly wed at the Little White Church in Los Angeles, with only a few friends and family members in attendance. The newlyweds decided to keep the celebration low-key to ensure everyone could focus on the future and the need for patience as they worked through a pandemic.

But, in a society that thrives on celebrity and Instagrammable moments, the wedding didn’t go unnoticed. A day after the ceremony, the couple’s wedding photo was the first to go viral, amassing over 300,000 likes on TikTok as of this writing. Naturally, the social media platforms were abuzz with congratulations, and many fans were curious about the intimate ceremony and its details. On Twitter, @_anna_kendrick, the actress’ account, responded to fans’ questions with a revealing glimpse into their wedding day.

The public now has a rare window into the secretive life of Kendrick and Falcone. While the exhibition focuses on their work as a creative couple, it’s also a chance to learn more about the personal side of the two. Thanks to the work of their design agency, they’ve been able to keep their personal lives relatively private, but their fans have long been curious about who they are as individuals and what brought them together.

The couple have been through a lot together. They’ve worked through the pandemic as a team and have helped each other to grow as individuals. On their wedding day, they said “I do” after more than five years of dating. While they might be private in nature, it’s clear that they share a passion for art and design and want to continue creating beautiful things together.
