Ever since becoming a father, Robert Pattinson has taken a backseat in the spotlight. But the actor has kept a fairly active social media account, sharing pictures of his family and expressing his views on political and social issues. Here’s a breakdown of what the actor has been posting lately.

Taking Time Out Of His Schedule

The Twilight actor revealed in June that he wouldn’t be taking part in any promotional activities for the upcoming season of the popular BBC series, Doctor Who. In a post on Instagram, he explained that while he would like to return to acting, he needed to put his family first. “I miss my kids so much and I want to be with them as much as possible,” he said. “I know it’s selfish, but it’s also the right thing to do.”

Since then, he’s posted a few times to his Instagram account but has otherwise taken a break from filming to focus on his family. As a result, there’s been a noticeable decline in his social media presence. The few times he’s posted, it’s been brief videos of himself playing with his kids or sharing a sweet moment with his wife, Kate Bosworth.

Sharing His Honest Opinions

Though he’s made a point of not talking about his films in the press, Robert Pattinson has occasionally shared his thoughts on the subject with his fans. When asked during an interview with Rolling Stone what he thought about the news that George Lucas was reworking the original Star Wars trilogy, he candidly replied: “I don’t understand. Why? He created the original. What’s he adding to it? Does he want to be a part of history? Why? Why can’t we just let it be?”

While he may not always have been comfortable talking about his work in the past, the 40-year-old has increasingly been willing to engage with his fans on social media. In March, he tweeted that he was finally able to shed the “Twilight” skin and that his new film, “Bel Ami,” was “good to really good.”
