There are some movies that just stick with you. They leave such an impression that it is almost impossible to forget them. Sometimes it is the script, sometimes it is the acting but mostly it is that feeling you get while watching a movie. This is exactly what happened to me when I saw the movie Robert Pattinson Girl With Gloves at my local cinema. I will admit, I was a little reluctant to see it. The trailers looked incredibly boring and did not do the film any justice. However, when the lights finally went down and the credits started rolling, I found myself gripped by an emotion that made everything else disappear for a bit.
Intense And Sensual
The first thing that struck me about the movie was how intense it was. It was not just about the romance between Pattinson and the protagonist, it also focused heavily on the characters’ inner turmoil. From the very first scene, I could feel the intense passion that Pattinson’s portrayal of Edward brought out in every scene. It was not just about the character, it was about Edward himself. He was driven by something deep inside him that no one else could understand. At times, it was even hard for him to understand why he felt the way he did, but the intensity carried the movie to such a degree that it did not seem overly dramatic at all. This approach made the viewer feel like they were living through the character’s journey alongside him or her.
Emotional Bond
The second thing I noticed about the movie was how much it pulled at my heartstrings. I have been in love with Edward ever since I saw the movie. It was not just the character, it was how he treated the character throughout the movie that won me over. Whenever he was with the character, I could feel the connection between them and it visibly affected me. There were so many tender moments between them that made me cry, not only because I was rooting for the character but also because I felt what Edward was going through. It is because of this that it is such an incredible achievement for any actor to be able to pull off an entirely emotional performance like this one. It is very difficult to convey how much feeling there is in this movie without falling into melodrama. This is a testament to the amazing acting ability of the cast, especially Pattinson and Taylor. They were able to make me feel like I was a part of what was happening even though I was hundreds of miles away. It is a truly beautiful thing to watch.
Romanticism In A Different Way
When I first heard that this was going to be a romantic comedy, my immediate thought was that it must be a comedy of manners. However, this is not the case and the term ‘romantic comedy’ might even be a misnomer. What it actually is is an intense love story told in an entirely different way. For those who love a more traditional approach to their romances, this might not be the type of movie you want to watch. However, if you are looking for something that will make you feel like you are falling in love all over again, then you should give it a try. Maybe you will even end up feeling like you have fallen in love with Edward all over again. Who knows?
Even though the movie is set in the 1950s, you will still be able to identify with some of the characters. The story is basically about an ordinary girl who works in an office and meets an intelligent, charming, and wealthy man who eventually convinces her to ditch her normal life and live with him in an ordinary house in the suburbs. Since she does not want to hurt her family, she agrees to take the backseat in their marriage and to be a housewife. However, her real feelings eventually show up and she breaks their engagement. While on the outside, everything seems to be normal and boring, on the inside, the protagonist is experiencing the most intense crisis of her entire life. She is torn between her fear of being rejected and her desire to be free. In the end, she makes the right decision and it is revealed that her relationship with Edward was not as dull as it seemed on the outside. He was after all, playing the role of a man tormented by his feelings for her and it was her job to play along and bring out the realism in their interactions. After their on-screen chemistry together, you might find it hard to believe that they did not know each other in real life and that this was all an act. There is a reason why this is called an emotional roller coaster.
An Important Message
The last thing I want to talk about is the message the movie tried to convey. It is a story about exploring your feelings and being true to yourself. One of the characters even says that the most difficult part of coming out of the darkness is believing in yourself enough to keep going. This is an important message for anyone who has ever been in a depressive episode. It is easy to get discouraged and feel like nothing is ever going to change. However, if you try hard enough, you will be able to find the light at the end of the tunnel and continue on your journey to a happier and more fulfilled life. You deserve to enjoy every minute of it.
