If you’re reading this, I assume you’re either a fan of Katy Perry or want to be one. The singer recently released a new album, PRESTO, and has a new fragrance, PRESTO, named after it. Since the album’s release, Katy’s been on a promotional tour, and I had the opportunity to tag along on a portion of it.

We started our trip in Miami, which is where the album’s first single, “Roar,” is set to be released. The song has already hit #1 on the Billboard Top 100, and as soon as we arrived in the city, we were greeted with the news that the song had broken yet another record, this time hitting #1 on the Billboard Top 100 two weeks in a row! I’m sure you’ve heard the song by now, as it’s been played everywhere from radios to club’s speaker systems, and I’ve had the pleasure of hearing it a hundred times or more.

From Miami, we flew to Orlando, where we were greeted by a swarm of paparazzi upon our arrival at the airport. Once we got through customs, however, we were led to a completely different departure lounge, where nobody seemed to know we were there. For the first time on our trip, we were able to enjoy some semblance of privacy. We boarded the flight and took our seats, and as we were about to reach cruising altitude, the flight attendant came by and said, “Welcome to Orlando.”

The flight was uneventful, and once we landed, we checked our bags and found out that we’d be staying at the Drury Plaza Orlando Airport Hotel. It was in a strange town called Winter Park, which is apparently famous for Prada and Dior, among other things. As soon as we had our room keys, we headed to the hotel gym to work out. Walking through the lobby, we saw a lot of people we knew, which made us feel a little more at home. Even the hotel restaurant offered a fun vibe, with plenty of young people enjoying themselves. We were certainly impressed with our first impression of the hotel and are looking forward to staying there again.

The next morning, we decided to walk around Winter Park a little bit and take in the atmosphere. We passed a park called the Orange County History Museum, which was actually closed for renovation at the time, but the fact that it was closed didn’t seem to matter. We were there to explore, so we went inside and took a look around. The museum was originally built in the 1960s and was fully renovated a few years back, but it still retains much of its original spirit. There were numerous vintage cars and some interesting old machines inside, and we felt that it was a great way to learn more about the area.

Orlando Is Home To A Lot Of Celebrities

As soon as we arrived in Orlando, we looked up celebrity addresses online and were surprised to see so many famous people calling the city home. We saw Orlando Bloom, Antonio Banderas, and Will Smith just to name a few, all within walking distance of our hotel. A block away were two theaters, one showing the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the other showing the Twilight Saga. We decided to check out the latter, figuring that maybe the former was too adult oriented for our 8-year-old twins, Max and Chloe. Afterward, we walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner with friends. As soon as we sat down, the waiter came by and asked if we were ready to order yet, to which we said yes. After a few minutes, our waiter returned and said, “You can probably guess what we’re offering here. French onion soup? Chocolate cake? Beef braciole? Or how about pasta? Or pizza?” We were a little shocked. We hadn’t eaten all day, and suddenly the waiter was asking us what we wanted for dinner. We didn’t know what to say, but he must have read our minds, because he said, “I get it. You’re from New York. You probably aren’t used to eating fast food, am I right?” As soon as he said that, I knew exactly what was happening. The hotel we were staying at was owned by burger king, who had apparently decided that rather than upgrade the restaurant, it would be easier to just replace it altogether. We had the same experience a few years back at another hotel in Denver, where we also stayed at. In both cases, instead of serving good food, they focused on quick turnaround and low prices.

Katy Is A Big Shark In The Marketing World

You can probably imagine that being the face of a major brand can be pretty lucrative, and being the female face of a brand can increase your chances of being paid significantly more than your male counterpart. To give you an idea of how much money can be made, just consider how much Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics company, Kylie Cosmetics, has made in less than a year. It was officially launched in April 2018, and within a few months, the company had become profitable. Forbes reports that Kylie Cosmetics has generated more than $30 million in revenue.

Kylie is now valued at more than $160 million, and she didn’t even have to go out and buy a large amount of products to be able to hit that number. Instead, once she signed the agreement with Perfumefresh, she would simply have to walk in the door and start promoting the product. 

You might wonder how much money Katy Perry has made in her career. Forbes reports that she is now valued at $500 million. If you include her brand extensions, such as KatyBars and the fashion lines DaintyDenim and KittyWear, her total worth is now more than $700 million. I’d like to think that being chosen as the official fragrance of Prada in 2016 has helped her to become more valuable. After all, if you’re going to wear a Prada scent, you better be prepared to sell a lot of it. It’s the same with Dior and many other luxury brands.

Being a celebrity can also mean getting to try out new things that you normally wouldn’t get the opportunity to. When I was in Orlando, I had the chance to attend the grand opening of the Oishi Hotel in South Orlando. Owned by the Osugi family, an upscale Japanese hotel group, the hotel focuses on sustainability and offers guests a complimentary fruit plate upon arrival. It also encourages them to leave something behind, which they name a guest room after. Oishi means ‘welcome’ in Japanese.

The Osugi family purchased the hotel in 2010 for a mere $26.3 million. Back then, the hotel consisted of just 54 guest rooms and 12 suites. While it was a beautiful building, with high ceilings, heavy wooden furniture, and oriental rugs, the rooms were a little bit dark and dull. To give you an idea of how much the Osugi’s have invested in the property, they have completely redone the rooms and added 10 new luxury suites in the process. The result is a gorgeous hotel with an atmopshere that feels like you’ve been transported to a spa. They’ve also invested heavily in new furniture, rugs, and fixtures as well as added amenities, such as a fireplace and an outdoor pool.

The Perfumerefresh Show Was A Madhouse

You might be familiar with Madame Tussaud’s famous wax museums, which are basically just museums of famous people and things. Well, Perfumerefresh is a similar company, only instead of wax, they use plant oils and essences. At the end of the day, it’s the same concept, but instead of wax, it’s oil. When you step inside the Madame Tussaud’s wax museum, you’re surrounded by lifelike statues of famous people, but when you step inside a perfumerefresh show, you’re surrounded by plants and trees that have been soaked in the essences of expensive perfumes.

One of the most luxurious and popular exhibits is Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. It originally opened in 1968 and was the last great addition to the museum. There, you’ll find everything from Jacko’s personal library to his original costumes and musical instruments. It’s not all fun and games, though. The Jackson Family and Perfumerefresh have been locked in a legal battle for years over the ownership of the property. There are also rumors that Michael Jackson isn’t dead, but instead, he’s hiding out in Neverland and going by the alias John Doe. Even though it’s widely assumed that the entire property is owned by the Jackson Family, it was sold off to them in 1966 by the previous owner, a Chicago millionaire named Ralph Zane who reportedly spent more than a million dollars a year on Jackson’s toys and gifts.
