Since the start of her acting career in 1980, Julianne Moore has remained one of Hollywood’s most popular and admired actresses. She was most recently seen in big-budget films like the James Bond flick, Spectre, and the animated family adventure, Ralph Breaks the Internet. Throughout her impressive filmography, Moore has built up an impressive list of favorite movie stars. Below, we take a look at her top five.

Robert Pattinson

The British actor and singer-songwriter, Robert Pattinson, has been on Moore’s must-see list since they worked together on 2003’s Gangster Squad. The two later starred in 2014’s The Immigrant, which won the actress a Golden Globe. It was in that film that Pattinson and Moore first portrayed a love story. After the success of that film, it’s no surprise that Pattinson would later show up in Moore’s films again. Moore has called him, “My perfect gentleman, my soulmate,” and often co-stars with him in her films. Pattinson, too, has praised Moore’s acting talent, calling her a, “genius,” in an interview with Esquire. What’s more, he even named one of his characters, after her. In 2019, Pattinson confirmed that they had been dating since shooting of Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Tom Hanks

While most of our favorite actresses have been quite private about their romantic relationships, not so with Tom Hanks. The iconic actor has been married to actress Rita Wilson since 1988, but they have been friends since they worked together on the film, Toy Story, in 1985. The two even starred together in the 1993 film, That Thing You Do!, which earned them an Oscar. The Coen Brothers film, The Man Who Wasn’t There, is also rumored to be a potential romance between Hanks and Wilson. In 2018, Hanks told Parade magazine that he sees himself as a, “lucky old man,” who has had a great life with his family and friends. He added, “I’m not looking for that next big romance. I’ve been very lucky with the women I’ve met.” When asked what type of woman he prefers, Hanks replied, “I like them to be smart, funny, and kind.”

Leonardo DiCaprio

While many might consider Tom Hanks to be the grandpa of romance in Hollywood, it’s actually Leonardo DiCaprio who is often named in such discussions. The acclaimed actor has been dating Kate Winslet since 2013 and the two even starred together in 2014’s The Great Gatsby. The following year, DiCaprio and Winslet were present at the 2019 Academy Awards when their film was named Best Picture. DiCaprio, in fact, has called Winslet his, “perfect match,” and their spokesperson has even announced that they are an official couple, which was later confirmed by the actor. Winslet, who is often praised for her intelligent and kind demeanor, has also said that DiCaprio is the man she has always dreamed of marrying.

Mel Gibson

It’s hard to discuss romantic plots in Hollywood films without mentioning Mel Gibson. Throughout his career, the Australian actor has been involved with numerous relationships, which has made it difficult to pin down details about any single one. What is known, however, is that he spends a lot of time with his dates before and after movie shoots. Gibson has often been praised for his charming and witty demeanor, and while it might be easy to write off many of his romantic moves as publicity stunts, there’s more to them than meets the eye. Gibson has even said that romance is not a, “foreign concept” to him, but he also explained that he doesn’t like to talk about his private life. In an interview with Parade magazine, Gibson explained that he sees his romantic relationships as an extension of his work ethic, claiming, “There’s a side of me that wants to run away and hide, but there’s a side of me that wants to lay it all on the line.” This year, Gibson was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film, Vice.

Matt Damon

While most of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars have been quite private about their personal lives, this hasn’t been the case for Matt Damon. The Ocean’s Eleven actor has been married to actress Luciana Agron since 2012, but they have been together since college and worked closely with director Steven Spielberg on the award-winning Bridge of Spies. In a 2006 interview with The New York Times, Damon opened up about his personal life and relationships, saying, “I’ve probably fallen in love about 20 times in my life. It’s hard to keep track of all the times you’ve fallen in love.” Since then, Damon has mentioned several of his famous exes, including Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, and Halle Berry.

In 2019, Damon received the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The award, which is given to honor, “prestige, creativity, and contribution to the industry,” was accepted by his wife, Luciana. In her speech, Agron praised Damon’s work ethic and devotion to his craft, calling him a “role model for future stars.” Damon, who was previously nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in The Departed, also used his acceptance speech to thank his wife, parents, and her parents for their support during the ceremony. Damon closed by expressing his hope that his success inspires more young people to consider a career in the film industry.

Whether they like to admit it or not, the success of these five stars proves that being a celebrity in Hollywood doesn’t necessarily mean you have to forgo the relationship side of life. Some of Hollywood’s most famous stars have been famous for their romances more than their careers, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. With the right partner, it’s possible for even the most seemingly impossible-to-please celebrities to have a happy and satisfying life. And, as it turns out, Moore has found her perfect match in Robert Pattinson, and Hanks has found his perfect match in Kate Winslet. It’s time for the rest of us to find our own perfect match and live happily ever after.
