“I didn’t really get it,” Pattinson said. “I wasn’t really expecting it. We were filming, and she went into her trailer, and then all of a sudden she came out with this engagement ring. I was like, ‘What’s this?’ and she was like, ‘Don’t ask.’ I was like, ‘OK.’ ”
“She didn’t want anyone to know until the wedding. She wanted to keep it a surprise,” Stewart added. “So we were filming, and I went into my trailer and changed into a wedding dress, and when I came out, there was a banner that said, ‘Happy Ever After.’ So it was all planned.”
A Possible Engagement?
Although rumors of an engagement between Stewart and Pattinson have circulated for years, this is the first time that the on-screen couple has publicly confirmed their relationship, and for the most part, they seem happy to be spending more time together. When asked if they were indeed considering an engagement, both actors were noncommittal. “I wouldn’t necessarily say no,” Stewart said. “I think it’s a really, really nice question. I don’t know the answer.”
Pattinson added, “I wouldn’t really say no. I like to be able to surprise her every day. I think that would be kind of cool, don’t you?”
