If you’re reading this, I assume you have some idea of what the title of this piece is going to be about: the Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson relationship. As the first half of October draws near, it’s only natural that we’d start thinking about the new Star Wars film, which is set to hit theaters soon. That’d be a big change from our last glimpse of these two Hollywood powerhouses in September. But let’s dive back into what has been happening in the news and on social media since that time.
The Relationship
Whether we like it or not, this relationship between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart is definitely newsworthy. So much, in fact, that their breakup in April 2018 was reportedly caused by the international media circus that they both found themselves in the middle of (as well as the paparazzi). Since then, they’ve kept pretty low-profile, with only the occasional red-carpet sighting. But their public appearances have been far more frequent than we’ve seen in a while, which is a good thing for their fans (and for us, too, since we get to witness their charm and charisma first-hand).
On September 4th, the two were spotted together — and it looked like they were having a good time. But that was just a glimpse of what was to come. Over the next few days, they made appearances at several red-carpet events, including the premiere of The Lion King in Los Angeles. Since that time, they’ve been inseparable.
The Paparazzi And Their Game
This year has been a whirlwind for both of them, with Robert appearing in a number of high-profile films. The Lion King was just the beginning. He’s also been selected to play the lead in Guy Ritchie’s next movie, set to hit theaters in Spring 2019. If that isn’t enough, he’ll also be the star of the highly anticipated action film, Deadpool 2, in late fall.
But it’s not just about the films, as Robert has been keeping very busy on social media. He regularly posts about his busy schedule and flaunts his celebrity. And what’s made these posts particularly interesting is that they seem to have a distinct game behind them. Here’s the deal: whenever Robert posts about an upcoming film or meeting, it’s followed by a string of emojis and four or five hashtags, usually including the words ‘fan’ and ‘fangirl’. We’re not sure why he goes through this exercise, but it definitely is a sight to behold.
Meanwhile, Kristen has mostly remained quiet on social media. She did, however, grace the cover of Vanity Fair’s October 2018 issue, which boasted the trending hashtag #VFcovergirl. Even more interesting, though, was that the magazine released a video of a Q&A with Stewart following the cover shoot. She was asked about her thoughts on the relationship between men and women today, which is pretty reflective of the issues she’s been raising on her own social media platforms. The interview also touches upon her relationship with Robert, which she refers to as a “friendship”.
Why Does This Matter?
It’s important to point out that while we’re certainly not complaining about the amount of media coverage this relationship has received, it’s still not quite clear why we should care about their personal life. Sure, there’s always the opportunity for entertainment value. But can we really say that we care about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as individuals, despite all the press coverage?
