The ‘Wedding Bells’ are expected tolling for Hollywood couple, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, with the pair having been engaged for several years. The actor has allegedly chosen to walk down a different path, having opted out of the celebrity wedding circuit – instead setting up a makeshift shrine in the shape of a heart, where he regularly places candles and flowers to show his undying love for the actress.

There is no question that one of the most recognisable faces in the world is that of Kristen Stewart. The 22-year-old actress rose to fame after starring in the award-winning movie, The Twilight Saga, and has since gone on to appear in a laundry list of acclaimed films and TV shows. She is currently enjoying high-profile collaborations with fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci, in addition to maintaining a busy career in films.

While Stewart’s movie career arguably began with the Twilight series, it is important to remember that she has been acting for years before she even thought of trying her hand at fiction writing. She made her screen debut in the 2009 independent film, Trust, which starred Christina Hendricks and James Gandolfini, and since then she has featured in such prestigious flicks as Black Swan, Winter’s Bone, and The Birth of a Nation. She has also frequently returned to her native New York City for filming, having starred in the Broadway musical, Spring Awakening.

A Devoted Fan

While Stewart’s acting career has been going from strength to strength, it is important to remember that she has had to juggle her time between filming and promoting her films. She thus avoided direct contact with fans, doing most of her social media interactions through the auspices of her character, Bella. It was not until September 2018 that Stewart really got back in touch with her audience, when she made a brief appearance at a Comic-Con convention in San Diego, California. The actress was then interviewed by fellow Twilight alum, Kristen Haning, who had flown out from Missouri to meet her. Haning’s father was one of Stewart’s flight attendants on the TWA Flight 714 that was diverted to Montreal due to bad weather in New York City. The two then took to Twitter, where they chatted about their time on set and the challenges of being a young Hollywood actress.

A Different Approach

While many celebrity couples make the decision to wed well ahead of their time, it seems that Stewart and Pattinson have put their careers on hold until recently. They have not released any official statement regarding their plan to wed, though the actor has been seen sporting a wedding band on his right hand. A source close to the couple told Entertainment Tonight that they are aiming to wed in a small ceremony in New York in the next few months. The pair have already started planning the wedding and are due to travel to Europe for the summer, before returning to New York in September.

A Devoted Husband

It was announced back in 2017 that Stewart was pregnant with her first child, a daughter, Rylan. The news was revealed after the birth of the child to Stewart’s parents, Stephen and Leslie. The actress gave birth to Rylan just shy of midnight on March 20, and she and her husband chose to celebrate the event in private.

Pattinson, meanwhile, has been dogged by misfortune since his professional skiing days from 2004 to 2008. After making a tidy sum from the slopes, he lost much of his income when the entire ski industry went into decline following the global financial crises. He was unable to make payments on his various luxury cars and yachts, which were repossessed by the lender.

The 41-year-old actor later declared bankruptcy and was forced to cancel the wedding of his dreams. He then relocated to Vancouver, Canada, where he lives with his wife, Emily Vicenzi. The two were married in a ceremony at the Vancouver Town Hall on July 25, 2018. The pair chose to keep the ceremony a secret for as long as possible, with rumours quickly spreading that they had eloped.

In 2018, Pattinson starred in the Canadian Western drama series, Dark, which marked his return to the big-screent politics of Hollywood following his time in Canada. The series, which he also co-created, is set in the fictitious town of Dark River, Washington, and revolves around the Sheriff’s office, which undertakes criminal investigations into the unexplained disappearance of local women. He plays the role of Sheriff Jack Hardy, who is determined to discover the truth behind the town’s dark history.

Pattinson also stars in the upcoming James Bond film, Black Widow, which hits UK cinemas on April 12. The actor’s other upcoming projects include the zombie drama, The Dead Pool and the psychological thriller, The Goldfinch. The couple, who have been together for five years, have made headlines for all the right reasons – but hopefully without ever having to face the stress of an unplanned pregnancy or a money-related crisis.
