Congratulations to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart who took home the top prize for the MTV Video Music Award for best kiss. The couple have been labelled as the golden ticket to Hollywood romance as they work their way to the top. At the MTV European Music Awards in London on November 27, 2013, the ‘Belle’ star wowed the audience with her sizzling performance. She then took to the stage to present the prize to her on-screen beau. Later, Stewart made her way to the MTV offices in New York City for the big announcement.
The ‘Twilight’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ actress was named the best female video artist of the year – an accolade that comes with a golden statue and a one-of-a-kind, custom made dress. In total, Stewart won five awards at the ceremony, including best album for her self-titled debut album, best song for her track ‘Human’ and best video for her steamy duet with Robert Pattinson, ‘Belle’.
‘Snow White and the Huntsman’
While some may consider it a bitter pill to swallow, perhaps it’s time for the ‘Twilight’ craze to come to an end. The franchise, which centres on the love story between Bella and Edward, has dominated the box office for the past year and is now entering its twilight phase. For the first time in over a decade, a live action adaptation of ‘Snow White’ will not be released and the ‘Twilight’ universe will not be expanding. Not even Taylor Lautner is safe from the clutches of the wicked queen…
If you thought that the twilight saga was over after Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s star-studded wedding, think again. Despite only being married for a matter of hours, the newlyweds already have plans to renew their vows in front of a live audience in Paris.
Also celebrating a wedding anniversary this year is Taylor Swift, who turned 24 a few weeks before the premiere of her latest album, ‘1989’. The singer released a festive performance of her single, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, on November 24, which was followed by the album the next day.
The Golden Ticket
The award ceremony was a huge success and, as a couple, Robert and Kristen were able to celebrate their undying love for one another. It was the first time they’d been together since their split in October 2012 and the moment served as a stark reminder of how deeply the pair were still connected. The pair have yet to publicly address their separation, but it’s clear that their fans have not forgotten about their painful journey and continue to be by their side, supporting their love and collaboration.
The ceremony at the O2 Arena in London was a fitting end to a year that has seen the power couple enjoy unprecedented levels of success. For the first time in decades, a non-English speaking country has produced an official English-language translation of the Oscars, with the Irish language version winning seven Academy Awards including best picture and best director. In September, Stewart and Pattinson will be attending the prestigious Venice Film Festival to promote their upcoming movie, ‘The Goldfinch’.
While we wait for more news on the couple’s collaborative project, here’s to hoping that 2019 will bring them even more success and happiness.
