While Robert Pattinson was in Australia filming the second part of Twilight, he took the time to speak with the media about the upcoming birth of his and Kristen Stewart’s second child. The couple are already parents to a one-year-old daughter, Suki, and they are anxious to grow their family. They were both keen to disclose some details about the pregnancy and the birth of their daughter and the effect that parenting has had on their lives.
The couple have been together for several years and began to seriously discuss having children early in their relationship. They were first engaged in July 2011 and were married in Paris on Valentine’s Day in 2013. In April 2014, they welcomed their first child, Suki, who they describe as “an amazing little girl”. The family currently spends their time between London and France as Robert is based in the UK and Kristen is based in France after completing her final exams at the prestigious art school, Ecole du Louvre. In addition to her role as an actor, Kristen spends her time on the French Riviera promoting her designer collections and acting in films. Her upcoming projects include an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s famous Little Women and a role in the Benicio Del Toro-directed psychological thriller, The Devil’s Backbone. She will also be seen in the upcoming Denis Lavant-starring film, Les Affinités Electives, along with Kate Winslet and Jim Broadbent.
Meanwhile, Robert continues to work on the set of the highly-anticipated Twilight sequel, Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The actor was last in Australia for the movie’s press launch a few weeks back, and when speaking with reporters, he confirmed that he will be back in the country for the birth of his and Kristen’s second child.
Pattinson’s Family Is ‘Extending’ In France
While the couple were in Australia, Robert’s family also visited from the UK. His parents, Michael and Lynne, as well as his siblings, Jane and Luke, went to Melbourne to see their youngest son and his wife. In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, Luke said of the couple’s upcoming baby: “It’s amazing. We’re all so happy for them. It’s been quite an eventful year for them. They’re both such lovely people.” Luke also praised his nephew and his wife, saying: “I’m sure their daughter will bring them great joy. It’s a beautiful thing to see two people in love.”
After the wedding, which was attended by a number of A-list celebs, including Elle MacLeman and Helena Bonham Carter, Robert returned to the UK to shoot part two of Twilight. He shot the first part, which was directed by David Slade, in April 2014 and completed filming in early June 2014. Slade then edited the film before proceeding to put together Part 2. We don’t yet know when the sequel will be released.
Stewart Is Looking Forward To Parenting
Speaking with The New York Times, Kristen said that she and her husband are “loving parenthood”. She said: “We are such fans of being a parent. Our daughter has made us a more mature individual. She’s forced us to grow up and be more responsible. This is all good.”
The actress went on to say that she is looking forward to being the “protector” of her child, adding: “I want to guide her in the right direction. I want to be there to protect her from the temptations of the world.”
Kristen described parenting as “the most amazing experience” and said that being Suki’s parent has “changed me forever”. She continued: “I feel like I have a purpose now. I feel like I am meant to be a great parent. It’s something I have been longing for.”
Their First Babymoon Was Special
On their wedding day in January 2013, Robert and Kristen had chosen France as the location for their celebration of becoming husband and wife. The couple spent their honeymoon in the country and had spent most of the time apart connecting with loved ones and taking time to be together as a family. They had chosen St-Tropez as the location for their celebration as it was the place where they first met and were surrounded by friends and family. It was also the perfect spot to enjoy some quiet time without the distracting media glare.
Although the media were present when the couple got hitched, they were able to enjoy their privacy for the first few months of their marriage. In fact, they didn’t allow cameras to film their wedding night, a decision which has since turned into a tradition among the newlyweds.
The Wedding Was A Largest Ever Inaugurated
The Twilight frenzy reached new heights when news broke that the celebrity wedding between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would be one of the special events of the year. Reports suggested that the couple had chosen Paris for their celebration, due to its enchanting charm. However, Stewart’s parents chose to have their daughter’s wedding in upstate New York, a stunning location that is the hometown of Stewart’s late grandmother. The venue, the Adirondack Chateau, is one of the most impressive stately homes in the town of Saratoga.
The wedding was an unforgettable event, particularly for those who had been lucky enough to be there. More than 700 guests, including A-list celebs, gathered at the venue for the wedding ceremony, which took place in the Great Hall. The wedding party then made their way into the garden, where they were joined by hundreds of well-wishers and photographers. The newlyweds then made their grand entrance as photographers yelled, “Speech! Speech!”.
The wedding was an incredible success. Speeches were given by Stewart’s sister, Alex, and Pattinson’s mother, Lynne. The two-day celebration also featured an amazing array of food and drink, as well as a performance from Ellie Goulding.
Following the wedding, the newlyweds jetted off to St Barts, where they filmed the first part of their nuptials. They then took a week-long honeymoon in the Bahamas, before returning to Britain to film the second part of Twilight. The film was released in November 2012 and became one of the biggest success stories of all time, grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
Newton Isn’t The Only One
In the months after completing his work on Twilight, Robert began to hear disturbing rumours regarding another A-list celebrity couple’s private life. The stories, which appeared to originate from an “insider source”, claimed that Kristen Stewart and photographer-actor Charlie Newton were involved in an affair. After initially denying the allegations, Stewart later admitted that she had indeed been having an affair with Newton for the past year.
Stewart and Newton have both remained silent on the matter, with Newton issuing only a brief statement to Entertainment Tonight, denying the claim that they are involved in an affair. The statement said: “These allegations are false and ridiculous. I have never cheated on Kristen and have no interest in doing so. I am a happily married man, and, as we have discussed, Kristen and I are just friends.”
The statement went on to say that while the couple are close, “they are not romantically involved.” While it remains to be seen what the future holds for Stewart and Newton, they are surely taking the opportunity to relive those sweet childhood days on this year’s Instagram account, posting numerous heartfelt messages to their followers.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson has been keeping busy since wrapping up his part in Twilight. The actor has appeared in a number of films and is now working on his directorial debut, an intimate drama titled The Wedding Party. The film will star Emilia Clarke and Rupert Everett and will be released in August 2019. He has also been dating filmmaker and model Léa Seydoux, with whom he shot his critically-acclaimed debut film, The Rover.
The couple are due to give birth to their second child in June or July 2019. It should be noted that Pattinson has a three-year-old daughter, Suki, with his ex-partner, Rose Leslie.
