It’s not everyday that you get to choose your entertainment, but when you do, it’s one of the most exciting moments of your life. Today could be the day that you discover that Jimmy Fallon is the greatest thing since sliced bread, or it could be the day that you realize that Robert Pattinson is the worst thing since herpes. Guess which one it is going to be?

Let’s compare and contrast these two popular entertainers. While one is steadily climbing the ranks, the other is experiencing a bit of a slump. Let’s see how they measure up.

Style

Fallon is polished and sleek. His hair is always perfect, and he prefers to keep his makeup minimal and natural, with a touch of blush and lip gloss. So it’s no wonder that he’s one of the most popular hosts, as he is able to effortlessly pull off a polished vibe while hosting The Tonight Show.

On the other hand, if we compare Pattinson to Fallon, we immediately notice how much more casual the British actor/singer’s style is. It’s clear that he loves fashion, and doesn’t always care as much about how he looks as much as Fallon does. He often goes for a more rugged look, and doesn’t always feel the need to keep up with the polished image that Fallon strives for. But that’s what makes him special, you know?

Humor

Now is the part where we get to the good stuff. Fallon has established himself as one of the most popular late-night hosts, and for good reason. While many consider David Letterman to be the king of late night, Fallon has been steadily rising since he started hosting in 2015. And according to a study by The New York Times, he’s actually one of the most successful late-night hosts of all time.

Fallon’s humor is similar to that of Letterman’s, but it’s more upbeat and a little less dry. He tends to use smart-alecky asides, as he does on his show, saying things like, “You know when you go to sleep that your body is giving off all kinds of signals to the mind that you’re not waking up for at least a little while. So if you want to tell somebody you love them, go ahead and send them a goodnight message on their phones.”

As you might expect, Pattinson’s humor is just a little different. While he’s certainly not lacking in wit, he tends to rely more on sarcasm than other late-night hosts do, saying things like, “I was raised in a trailer park in England, where the toilet paper is always loaded, and there’s always a tub of warm beer waiting for you. It’s good to be home.”

Cuteness

When it comes to cutesy, kittenish humor, we’re looking at you, Pattinson. You have tomcats, you have koalas, you have pandas. It seems like every other scene on your movie and TV show involves some sort of animal. (Perhaps that’s why Stephen Colbert decided to nickname you “King Tuts”?)

So yeah, Fallon is the better comedian when it comes to animal humor. He has the perfect cat-like quality that makes even the most inappropriate jokes seem charming.

Scandalous Behavior

It’s not everyday that we get to talk about celebrities, but when we do, it’s usually in relation to their scandalous behavior. We get to see the fun and games that famous people play, and it doesn’t always have to be related to work. There are a lot of famous people out there, but there are also a lot of famous people who have some pretty dark sides. Fallon is no stranger to tabloid scandals, having been married three times already (once to Nancy Dolman, twice to Vanessa Paradis), and he frequently makes jokes about how the media can be so obsessed with celebrity gossip that it actually causes some people to go crazy.

Pattinson has also been in the headlines a lot lately, mostly for his scandalous behavior. He and his ex-fiancé, Lily Collins, got cozy while on a family vacation to Italy last summer, and they were even spotted shopping for luxury goods, which led to accusations of her stealing his money. (Though maybe not all of it.) Then there was that whole paparazzi debacle from earlier this year, when he was caught on camera hitting a paparazzi photographer, as well as the other photographers who were trying to catch the scene on camera. So yeah, both of these guys have had something to deal with in the press recently, and they both know how to play the media game. But we know which one is the better comedian, don’t we?
