Three of music’s most recognisable faces will go head-to-head tonight as rock legends Jack Whitehall and Robert Pattinson take on Hollywood A-lister Full Frontal in a celebrity boxing match.
The night is set to be an historic one for music fans, as Whitehall and Pattinson will be showing off their softer sides in what is expected to be a fascinating clash of styles. The boxing matches, which will be held at London’s O2 Arena, will feature on tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Chat.
Whitehall, 66, fronted the popular UK band THE ROLLING STONES for almost 40 years before leaving the band in 2015. He currently fronts indie folk band JOHNNY WHITE, and has just released his first album in 10 years, called Make Another Wish. He also has a memoir out this year called The Man From U2.
Pattinson, 35, is an acclaimed British actor who rose to fame after playing a vampire in the blockbuster hit Let Me In and its sequel. Since then, he has starred in films such as CosmoQuest and The Rover as well as the acclaimed drama Pattinson. He will also be seen this year in the big-budget superhero movie Venom.
Full Frontal, 55, is a Grammy-nominated American vocalist, rapper and songwriter. She is most famous for fronting the rock band LADY GAGA’s backing singers and co-wrote the Grammy-winning 2000 single Feels Like Heaven. Most recently, she released her debut solo album, The Ride, which entered the UK Albums Chart at number two.
The first round of the bout will see the two boxers take it in good spirits, with jabs and smiles directed at the audience. Both men will be keen to prove they’re still able to perform at the highest level, having both retired from their professional careers years ago. The eventual aim is for the two to settle their differences in a peaceful manner, in front of a crowd of adoring fans.
Why These Three?
It’s an interesting selection of names to put in the hat for a boxing match, and one that will surely draw a lot of curious onlookers. Whitehall and Pattinson are two of music’s most recognisable faces, while Full Frontal is one of its most exciting and groundbreaking artists.
The match will offer up a fascinating clash of styles, with the boxers showing off their talents for the public. Whitehall is known for his brash, over-the-top personality and unique brand of humour, while Pattinson is an actor who has brought a more serious side to his roles in recent years.
Let’s be honest, we’re all aware of the unique sounds that Whitehall and Pattinson can bring to a track. We’ve all heard their distinctive voices and caught the unique inflections in their songwriting. However, this is the first time that we’ve ever seen them physically engage in a boxing match, so we’re definitely in for a treat.
The match will also be a great chance for fans to see the three musical legends put on a show, engaging in friendly jabs and giving each other high-fives after each round. It will be interesting to see how these icons of music interact with each other, and whether or not they’re able to settle their differences in a peaceful manner. This will no doubt be an historic event for music fans, and one that they will long remember.
Who Will Come For Yours Truly?
We already know the answer to this one. It’s going to be Jack Whitehall and Robert Pattinson. The UK and US rock stars have been friends for years, and even collaborated on a track together called You Don’t Know Me at one point. After playing nice for so long, it’s only natural that they’d want to settle their differences in a peaceful manner.
There’s also the small matter of them both being born on October 23rd, which is the same date that Monty Wooley, the creator of the White haloed cow, born six years earlier. Apparently, this is a big day for Wooley’s fans, who have named a day after him. They even have parades in honour of him, with some people wearing cow costumes. The man has even appeared in documentaries about the legend of the white halo cow, including the 2006 film The People vs. Monty Wooley. This is a good example of how two superstitious people can come together to make a really funny story.
Anyway, enough about the unlikely friendship that has brewed between these three men. We want to know what you guys think about this historic match. Do you think that it’s a good idea to have a celebrity boxing match? Can you see any of the competitors giving the fight?
