One of the most interesting and anticipated films of 2022 is Harry Potter and the Fourth Wizarding War, which is currently in production. If you didn’t catch the reference, then it’s time to brush up on your Harry Potter trivia. Before we get into it, though, there are a few things we need to cover about this upcoming movie.
Is Robert Pattinson Back as Harry Potter?
Yes, he is! Robert Pattinson plays one of the most iconic characters of all time, Harry Potter. The actor, who rose to fame for his role in the Twilight series, admitted that his involvement in the fourth installment of the hugely successful Harry Potter franchise was both a dream and a challenge. As a lifelong Harry Potter fan myself, I can confirm that this news came as a bit of a shock. Seeing as how this is such an important movie in the series, it’s only natural that fans would want to see if Robert Pattinson’s Harry Potter was going to measure up. Thankfully, he doesn’t disappoint. In fact, he exceeds all expectations.
I went into the theatre expecting to see a good performance, but not an astounding one. It’s clear that Robert Pattinson has taken on the persona of Harry Potter; however, he doesn’t completely inhabit the character. This is mostly due to the fact that he’s playing a dual role as Cedric Diggory. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t perform admirably, he does! But, it’s almost like he has his own identity and doesn’t want to completely take on another person’s character. This makes me think that he’s either: a) been doing some serious research or b) has already played the character and is bringing his own experience to the role.
Why Are They Reuniting For This Movie?
There are a few reasons why Robert Pattinson and Vanessa Redgrave are reuniting for this movie, but the main one is that they’re both passionate fans of Harry Potter. It’s not that they didn’t work together before, it’s just that this will be their first collaboration since 2002’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. To add to that, Redgrave is also playing one of Harry Potter’s most iconic villains, Dolores Umbridge. It would make sense that they’d both be working together again, since they love the character so much. This is also probably due to the fact that she was such a key player in the previous installment. She’s the one who instigates the war between the wizarding world and the Muggles. As I mentioned before, it’s a combination of both experience and passion that Robert Pattinson brings to the role of Harry Potter. This is most evident by the fact that he researched the character intensively and even spent time living in a Muggle dwelling, which gave him a better understanding of what it’s like to live as a Muggle. He also grew his hair and beard for the role. It’s a bold move, but it certainly pays off.
What Is The Status Of The Muggle World In This Film?
This film is set roughly a decade after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Since that time, the Muggle world has slowly adjusted to their newfound existence as a result of Voldemort’s death. It is now permissible to be a Muggle and live your life as you please. This is certainly a topic that could be covered in a whole other article, but one that I’d like to briefly mention. Even though the Muggle world is mentioned as frequently as the Wizarding World in this film, it is actually treated more like a afterthought. Voldemort’s death caused a massive rift between the two and it’s never truly healed. The Wizarding World still considers the Muggles to be a lower form of life and mostly keeps to themselves. It is never truly accepted by the Muggle world that Voldemort was killed and that an alliance can and should form with these primitive creatures. I’d like to think, however, that this is starting to change.
How Does The Cinematography And Costumes Magnify The Impact?
The costumes and wardrobe for this film are extraordinary and they create a magnificent contrast between the two worlds. The costumes are designed by the renowned J.M. WESTON, who has also designed costumes for the likes of Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, and Jessica Chastain. Since we’re talking about the incredible costumes, it’s only fair to speak about the cinematography, as well. The costumes are very much a focal point of this movie, but the cinematography by the talented LEE ESKEROVSKY is just as impressive. He did the cinematography for the previous three Harry Potter films and it’s clear that he took on even more responsibility for this one. This is largely due to the fact that it’s the largest film that he’s ever had the chance to work on. It’s also one of the most expensive films as well. A good portion of the budget went towards the special effects and it shows. They couldn’t have gotten away with such lavishness if the film didn’t perform well financially. The costumes and the sets look incredible and everyone working on the film deserves a lot of credit.
Who Is The Major Assassin Character?
One of the most intriguing characters in this upcoming movie is Nagato Shinnosuke. He’s the leader of the White Court and he is a pure-blood wizard. He is also very much an expert in fighting and is known for using a fan as a weapon. It is not known if he will be the villain or the protagonist of the story, but either way, he will be an extremely interesting character to follow. He is also rumored to be in possession of a sacred dagger that was passed down from generation to generation. This dagger is capable of ending Voldemort’s reign of terror and starting a new era, where both wizarding and Muggle worlds can coexist peacefully.
If you’re a true Harry Potter fan, then it’s only natural that you’d want to know everything there is to know about this film. It’s still pretty early in the game, so it’s a good idea to hold off on making any major conclusions, yet. However, what I will say is that this film is going to be incredible and it’s clear that Robert Pattinson wants to make sure that he doesn’t disappoint. Seeing as how it’s been a while since we’ve had a new Harry Potter installment, it’s time to get reacquainted with one of the most famous characters in history!
