There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the upcoming Justice League movie. Most of the rumors involved Tom Hardy being cast in the role of John Blake/Red Hood, which he eventually was. However, there is one rumor that has been doing the rounds that could turn out to be true. It concerns the possibility of Robert Pattinson being cast as the main villain in the movie, The Joker.

The Rumor

According to a recent rumor, Robert Pattinson has been lined up to play the main villain in the upcoming superhero movie, Justice League. The project, which is currently in production, will be released on November 17, 2017 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The rumor claims that Pattinson’s Joker will be an aggressive, maniacal individual who will go after Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League on his own. The rumor also states that Pattinson is already training for his role in the movie, using acting coaches and experts to improve his performance.

While it is true that Pattinson has been training hard for his role in Marvel’s highly-anticipated Dark Phoenix, it appears that he has taken on a different challenge in Justice League. The actor is known for his spontaneous and quick-tempo performances, which will make it difficult to prepare for a character who operates on the whimsical side. Moreover, there is no indication that The Joker will be based on the version from the Dark Phoenix comics. Instead, it sounds like the character will be adapted from the recent animated movie, Batman: Return of the Joker (2016).

Why The Joker?

The Joker is one of the most recognizable villains in comic book history. The character has been featured in several films made by Warner Bros. Pictures, including the most recent installment, Suicide Squad. The character was first introduced to movie audiences in the 1955 film, The Joker (1955). Since then, the name “Joker” has become synonymous with villains who go above and beyond expectations to achieve their goals.

The popularity of the character has not diminished over time. In fact, the 2018 edition of the American Horror Story anthology television series was titled after him. The character’s influence can also be seen in other media, including video games and social media.

The combination of all these elements makes The Joker an ideal choice for the main villain in Justice League. With an already established and recognizable brand name, it will be easy for Warner Bros. to promote the character in their movies. Additionally, with a background in both comedy and action films, it is easy to see how the studio could put together a fun and dramatic movie starring one of their most famous and popular characters.

More On The Joker’s Characteristics

According to the rumor, Pattinson’s Joker will be a “psychopath, criminal mastermind, and [someone who] enjoys shocking the people he cares about.” While it is true that the Joker is usually associated with murder and mayhem, the character has shown a great deal of depth and complexity in his appearances in various media. For example, in the animated film, Batman: Return of the Joker (2016), he is shown to have a great deal of respect for Batman, referring to him as “the greatest Detective in the world.” This contrasts sharply with the portrayal of the character in the most recent Suicide Squad film, where he is a ruthless and soulless individual who murders anyone and everyone in his path to power.

Based on the trailer for Justice League, it is clear that the character who is playing the Joker will be putting on a very different face. However, the one thing these incarnations of The Joker have in common is that they are all extremely charismatic and cunning. It would be a mistake to write off the newest Joker as just a violent or insane person, because that is what we have become accustomed to seeing from this iconic character. Instead, it seems that Warner Bros. is going beyond what has traditionally been associated with The Joker and giving us a character we have never seen before, which is exciting.

Justice League’s Villains

Justice League is not the only upcoming Warner Bros. movie to feature a villain. There is also Men in Black: International, directed by Billy Bob Thornton, which will be released on May 25, 2018. In that movie, the antagonist is represented by Tommy Lee Jones, who plays a character named F.B.I. Agent Morton Stokes. In Suicide Squad, the lead villain is Rick Flag, a retired special agent who goes by the codename, Flag. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the main villain is Lex Luthor, who is represented by the remarkable Jesse Eisenberg. And in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the chief antagonist is Voldemort, played by Ralph Fiennes.

While each of these villains has his own specific agenda in his respective movie, they all have one thing in common: they are all incredibly intelligent and devious individuals. We cannot help but wonder: is Robert Pattinson going to be the next actor to don the orange suit and black mask?
