Robert Pattinson is having the summer of his life. Not only is he starring in some of this summer’s biggest films, but the actor also recently became engaged to his girlfriend, Twilight star, Kristen Stewart. The wedding is reportedly set for this September.
While it’s been quite the whirlwind romance for R.Pattinson, who also gained worldwide attention for his role as Batman in the movie, The Dark Knight Rises, he finally opened up about the nature of their relationship, teasing that he will “be [her] lover too.”
Below, find out what the lovebirds are saying about their new found fame and what lies ahead for them.
On The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1
When it comes to the Twilight franchise, no detail is too small to obsess over. From the costume to the soundtrack, everything about the films has been carefully crafted to perfection. And it showed: The vampire phenomenon has now spread beyond its initial target audience into the mainstream and continues to grow in popularity year after year. As a result, Summit Entertainment’s Breaking Dawn – Part 1 earned a mammoth $70 million opening weekend in North America and over $100 million more globally, with the debut standing as the third-largest non-holiday opening in cinematic history. In an interview with E! News, director Bill Condon revealed that the massive success of the movie didn’t come as a huge shock. “It’s the natural progression of the story,” he said. “It was really only a matter of time before the audience caught up with us. We always knew that this was going to be a series. It’s just that we didn’t know how much time it was going to be.”
Condon also had plenty to say about the fickle nature of film fans, teasing that the demand for Twilight derivatives will only continue to grow – especially now that the franchise is expanding into television. “It’s funny, because as movies go, Breaking Dawn was sort of an obscure little movie,” he said. “It’s about a baby vampire – I mean, you either love them or hate them, right? But [since] it’s become such a phenomenon, all of a sudden people are interested in this part of the story. So I think it will continue to have an audience. And it’s kind of fun to be able to feed off that. You never know what’s going to be trendy tomorrow.”
With more than 450 million books sold worldwide, Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga is one of the most popular and beloved literary series of all time. And now, it’s poised to take over the big screen as well.
Getting To Know You Better
While many may still be reeling from the mega-success of The Twilight Saga, it hasn’t stopped Robert Pattinson from taking advantage of the situation. The British actor hasn’t been idle since filming wrapped on his latest movie, The Dark Knight Rises, and has been busy shilling for various companies, including Pantene, Cover Girl, and even Taco Bell. And now, the actor is going one step further: After reportedly meeting and falling in love with Kristen Stewart while filming The Twilight Saga: New Moon in 2009, he has decided to propose to her this summer. Stewart, for her part, has been equally busy since wrapping up her role as Bella Swan in 2010’s Twilight. The actress has been keeping a low-profile, but she has been spending plenty of time with her new beau, frequently posting pictures of the two on their various social media accounts. Since first pairing up on screen in the 2006 film, Life Is Beautiful, the couple has been dogged by a series of tabloid stories, salacious rumors, and even a very public split in 2015. However, their undeniable on-screen chemistry and Stewart’s innate talent for keeping her private life under wraps have somehow prevented the two from being toppled from their pedestal – at least not yet.
“I think that we’ve just kind of been focused on what we need to do and been somewhat pragmatic about it,” Stewart said of their relationship during a sit-down with Elle magazine. “I think that it’s been positive. When you don’t feel like you can trust people, it’s hard to really let your guard down and be comfortable enough to share your innermost thoughts and feelings. I think that we certainly didn’t have that with [the press]. So it’s been good. It helps that Rob is so private and controlled about his personal life. It makes my life much easier when I don’t have to worry about [the press] intruding.”
What’s Next For Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart?

News, Stewart recently wrapped production on the science-fiction romance, X-Men: Apocalypse, in which she plays the role of Nightcrawler’s (Kurt Russel) sister, Jean. The actress is also attached to a slew of other indie projects in the pipeline, including a dramatic thriller called The Leather Monk and an untitled Woody Allen film. Meanwhile, after an acclaimed stage run in London, the British actor will soon be seen on screen again in the upcoming crime thriller, Mandy. And last but not least, Stewart is also attached to an untitled Woody Allen project, in which she will reportedly play the role of Dylan’s (Charlie Hunnam) love interest.
