Robert’s First Date
In “First Date”, we finally learn how old Robert Pattinson is. So, let’s take a trip back in time to the summer of 2003. The episode opens with Bella and Edward Cullen (Pattinson and Kristin Stewart) attending a polka night at a local bar. While there, Edward asks Bella if she’d like to go on a date with him, to which she gladly agrees.
The next day, Bella is introduced to her high school drama coach, Coach Boiunovich (guest star Kathryne Cullen). Boiunovich encourages Bella to go on a second date with Edward, but Bella declines, saying that she’s already made up her mind. Boiunovich then encourages Bella to go to a dance with some friends instead, as Edward will not be there (because he has another date that evening).
The following day, Edward goes to pick Bella up and they drive to a local restaurant for dinner. There, the couple share a lovely meal and then proceed to walk around the neighborhood. They eventually end up at a park and spend some one-on-one time. Finally, Edward asks Bella if she’s changed her mind about the date, to which she replies in the negative. So, Edward gives Bella a passionate kiss and they go home. When they arrive, Edward goes to his study to compose a letter, while Bella changes into her pajamas. She then goes into Edward’s study and he closes the door behind her. We then see a shot of the famous “Bella <3 Edward" tagline written on the study's wall, followed by Bella sitting down at his desk and giving him a passionate kiss. They then start to undress each other, with Edward suggesting they have sex. Unbeknownst to them, we've now spent the entire episode in flashbacks.
Is Edward Really Over 35?
So, we’ve established that Edward is in fact 35 years old, as stated in the books. But how old is he in Twilight? Most importantly, is he really over 35? Let’s take a look at the evidence. When Bella first meets Edward, he tells her that he is 26 years old. So, that would make him 26 at the time they start dating and 27 at the time of the vampire’s “birthday” in the book. As he makes no mention of his age in any of the subsequent episodes, we know he’s at least 27, as he would have had to tell Bella his true age in order to get a date with her. So, that makes him 27 or 28 at the time they start having sex and the engagement is consummated in the following episode. The same logic applies to the birth of their child in Twilight — the only episode that takes place in the present day. For the sake of this article, let’s assume that Edward is 28 years old when they meet, start dating and have sex for the first time.
How Long Has Edward And Bella Been Dating?
So, we’ve established that Edward is 28 years old and Bella is 17 years old at the start of their relationship — that is, three years before the events of Twilight. They meet while Bella is visiting her aunt and uncle in Forks, Washington, where the story takes place. So, that would make it 2003 and Bella is 17 years old. Edward drives her to her first day of school in the following episode. So, that would make it 2003 and Bella is 18 years old.
Now, how long has Edward and Bella been dating? We know that their relationship starts with Edward coming to Bella’s rescue in the following episode, so that would have to be in the winter of 2005. They spend the next few months together frequently at Edward’s Lake house and in other locations around Forks. When summer arrives, they begin spending quite a bit of time apart as Edward goes on hunting trips and Bella stays in town to study. But they continue to see each other throughout the year and have sporadic sex. So, somewhere around the end of that year — winter 2006 — their relationship turns into an official engagement. That would make it 2006 and Bella is 19 years old. At that point, Edward is 33 years old. The final step in their engagement is their wedding in the season five premiere. So, that makes it 2006 and Bella is 20 years old at the time of their wedding. They then have a daughter, Esme, in Twilight.
Robert’s Age In Real Life
We know that Robert Pattinson is 27 years old as of 2018, so the question is, how old is he in Twilight? The answer is that he appears to be in his late twenties. In the first film, he is 27 years old, as he has just celebrated a birthday. In other words, he appears to be in his early to mid-twenties. We know he is definitely older than Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella’s friend, Jessica. Therefore, if we assume that Edward is indeed 35 (as stated in the books), then that would make him at least 47 years old. So, that puts him at least 28 years older than Robert. In real life, Robert is already dating actresses and model types well into their thirties. So, in the Twilight universe, he’s obviously even older. What’s more is that he’s also quite the ladies’ man, as he’s previously been married to the English actress, Emily Brown. So, in Twilight, the tables have turned and Bella is now the older woman!
The Twilight Saga
Now that we know a bit about how old Rob is in Twilight, we can talk about the series as a whole. Let’s take a trip back in time to the summer of 2011, when the Twilight sequel, New Moon, was released in theaters. That would make it the 41st anniversary of the release of the first Twilight film and the 8th anniversary of the entire series. While some fans may find it strange that the series is now eight years old, it’s actually quite the feat, considering the film’s initial broadcast was nearly five years ago. So, let’s take a moment to appreciate all that this franchise has achieved. It started out as a teen hit and now has attained a level of popularity that transcends generations. It’s the rare series that is as relevant today as it was all those years ago.
