Welcome to “Ask Maggie”, a Q&A series with celebrity guest Mara Wilson. In the next few days, we’ll be answering questions from fans. This is the first installment in the Q&A series.
Question:
How many Batmans is Robert Pattinson?
Mara Wilson:
It’s hard to put into words just how many Batsmans Robert Pattinson has played over the years. His career has spanned decades and he has managed to appear in some of the most iconic movie franchises in history. He started out in the 1970s playing the part of the iconic character Alfred Pennyworth in the Batman series. He would go on to appear in six more Batman movies and also played the role of the butler Alfred in the Dark Knight series. He would also appear in two more Batman films as well as the spin-off TV show. He is probably best known for playing the part of the iconic character Batman in seven of the films in the Dark Knight series. He was also nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of the superhero in the series.
If we were to guess, we’d say that Robert Pattinson is most comfortable playing an established character or role. Though he has played iconic characters in the past, it seems that he is trying to avoid that label and play something new. Since starring in the Broadway play “The King and I”, he has mostly stayed off-camera and avoided movie appearances for the most part. As much as he might like to play a supporting role in a film, he probably isn’t ready to do so just yet.
Answer:
The ultimate question is: How many Batmans does Robert Pattinson feel he has played? While it’s impossible to know for certain, based on the films alone it would appear that he has played the role of Batman at least seven times. It’s also possible that he has played Alfred Pennyworth, the butler who becomes the manservant of Bruce Wayne and has a pivotal role in the later films, at least four times. There is also evidence to suggest that he has played two other characters, The Mad Hatter and the Riddler, in other films. Whether or not he has really played these other characters is something that could not be confirmed via the internet. So, for better or worse, we will have to make do with what appears in the films.

Question:
Is Robert Pattinson a good kisser?
Mara Wilson:
This is a tough one. While he might be one of the best kissers we’ve ever seen on-screen, it’s hard to say for certain. The closest we can get to an answer is in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, where he plays the part of Mr. Darcy. The only scene we’re shown where they get intimate is when he holds her close against him after they dance and it looks like they kiss. While some might argue that this is just a friendly peck, we’re inclined to think otherwise. To us, it looks like he goes down on her. That’s what we typically see in movies when a man and a woman are shown going at it. While we’re sure there’s more happening behind the scenes that we don’t see, for now, it’s best not to assume.

Question:
Could you tell us a little bit about your upcoming movies?
Mara Wilson:
As I mentioned before, since starring in the Broadway play “The King and I”, I have mostly stayed off-camera and avoided movie appearances for the most part. However, I have been working hard on getting back into acting and appeared in a couple of television commercials. The first is for a pet food brand and the other is for a vitamin company. I also have a role in an upcoming Netflix movie adaptation of Daniel Hahn’s hit novel “The Book of Henry”. In it, I will play the part of Alister, a mysterious loner who befriends a young boy named Henry who lives in a suburban community. We are not sure if this will be the kind of role that Robert Pattinson feels comfortable taking on, but it’s one he’s very much wanted to do. We’re excited to see what happens in this adaptation and curious to see how much Pattinson’s character will resemble himself.
Answer:
I’m excited to share with you that I will be one of the featured players in the upcoming movie adaptation of Daniel Hahn’s hit novel “The Book of Henry”, directed by Julianne Moore. We’re not sure if this will be the kind of role that Robert Pattinson feels comfortable taking on, but it’s one he’s very much wanted to do. We’re excited to see what happens in this adaptation and curious to see how much Pattinson’s character will resemble himself. The role requires me to travel to Germany and Austria to film for about eight weeks. The production starts in early 2020 and will be released on Netflix in April of that year.
