I love a good celebrity gossip story, and with the ever-growing popularity of social media, we now have the opportunity to dissect and analyse the media’s favourite stories in unprecedented detail. One of my favourite stories to cover recently involved Kristen Stewart and her complicated yet beautiful relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson. To say that these two are “private” would be a massive understatement – they’re both extremely private people, and what’s more is they don’t really entertain the press. According to our sources, this might be because they’re both going through a very public split at the moment, which made me wonder if Kristen Stewart’s infamous “gossip” about Robert Pattinson was a result of this unfortunate circumstance.
Is This All About The Split?
When the “Twilight” star was questioned about her infamous “gossip” about her co-star, she reportedly said:
“I think that all of that comes from a place of hurt. And I don’t think that it’s fair to say that I’ve gossipped about Rob. I don’t think that that’s fair to either of them. And I also think that there’s a time and a place for gossip. But I don’t think that now is the place. And I don’t think that Rob’s comfortable with it either.”
Now, one of the reasons why I find this particular story so fascinating is because it’s difficult to know how much of it is actually true. We were only given a side of the story by Kristen Stewart’s camp, who presumably wanted to present her as a “victim” of the media’s obsession with celebrity gossip. It was also difficult to find any corroborating evidence for much of what she said, including the fact that she doesn’t really gossip about Rob. So, it’s important to consider whether or not this is all just a publicity stunt orchestrated by Stewart’s team to save her from damaging publicity.
Why Does The Press Still Gossip About Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson?
Before we delve into the details of what happened between these two, it’s important to consider why the media still gossips about them even though they’ve been completely civilised towards each other for years now. Here’s a small excerpt from one of our sources, which illustrates this point perfectly:
“Ultimately what happened was the media kept going back for more. And they kept digging and digging for dirt because it’s fascinating to study celebrity break-ups. But the thing is, even when everything is said and done, the public still wants to speculate. So in a way, this is an impossible story to end. Because no matter what happens, people will want to talk about it. It doesn’t bother me that people gossip about my co-star, but I do think it would bother him. And that’s what’s most important. Because for all their differences as people and as an actor, Rob has always been pretty private and he wouldn’t want people to talk about him behind his back. So in that way, this whole thing is basically meaningless. Because as long as there’s gossip, there will always be Rob and Kristen.”
What Did Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart Say About Each Other In The Media?
Now that we’ve established the sort of “situation” that led to Kristen Stewart’s infamous “gossip” about Robert Pattinson, let’s examine what they actually said about each other in the media. And, to be honest, it wasn’t particularly positive. Here are some choice quotes:
- “[Robert Pattinson] is very sweet and easy to get along with. He always tries to be helpful and respectful. I think he has a good sense of humour.” (EW.com)
- “We get along great. We have a lot of fun together. He’s a good listener, and I feel like I can be very open with him. He’s a really private person, so it takes a lot to get him to open up.” (Elle.com)
- “We don’t really fight. We’ve never really had fights or arguments. We’re both very different people – he’s more of the party animal, and I like to keep to myself. We get along great.” (Gossip Cop)
- “He does a lot for me. He’s really sweet and attentive. I think he’s a great conversationalist. We have a lot of fun together.” (Huffington Post)
What Does Robert Pattinson Think About Kristen Stewart’s Gossip?
In a way, it’s strange to see celebrities fight over the media’s attention when they could be working together to promote a new movie. Despite this, that’s exactly what happened between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. In fact, it was a very public battle, which was fought out primarily on social media. To my knowledge, Robert Pattinson has publicly never commented on this matter, which is rather odd given that he’s the one who found himself in the middle of a war. Of course, maybe he has no interest in defending his reputation in this regard.
Is This A Bad Thing?
Whether or not you believe that tabloid stories about your favourite celebrity are good for your mental health is one thing. But is it a bad thing that the media continues to speculate about the break-ups and happy events of the rich and famous? It’s complicated, but I think that we can all agree that sometimes it’s nice to dive into another person’s world for a little while. If nothing else, it provides us with a fascinating window into the lives of the rich and famous. And maybe, just maybe, if we want to change something about the press, we can start by looking into whether or not it’s beneficial for our mental health to read about the private affairs of the rich and famous. But that’s a conversation for another day.
