Just like your average Joe, the handsome English actor, director, and rapper, Robert Pattinson, likes to have fun. However, rather than wasting time doing things like most Joes, he prefers to create. As a result, he has a number of fascinating projects in the works, including graphic novels, music videos, and films. All of which are sure to delight and entertain you! Here’s the skinny on what’s the deal with Pattinson.

Music

Pattinson began his music career back in 2009 when he co-founded the band, Sparks, along with his good friend, Charlie Beat.

The group released their self-titled debut album, Sparks, in 2012 and it was a #1 hit in the UK and Germany. Most recently, they covered David Bowie’s “Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide” for the 2016 box set, David Bowie: The Greatest Singles Collection Volume 1. Check it out.

Comic Books

Pattinson first got into comics in 2010 when he appeared in the Marvel Comics series, Thor, as the Asgardian warrior, Thorn. But it was his work on the comic, Vampire Knight that really shone. In that series, he played the titular character’s vampiric ex-boyfriend, Victor. He appeared in four issues of the series and, even though he was originally written as a one-dimensional villain, he managed to show a lot of dimension to his character. Something that the writers of the series never expected..

Animation

Pattinson’s big break came two years later when he was chosen to voice the titular character in an adaption for the small screen, Disney’s The Secret Life of Pets. The role propelled him to fame and he went on to voice numerous characters in other Pixar and Disney productions, including Remy in Ratatouille and Fenton in Beauty and the Beast. He also did the English-dubbed version for Netflix’s The Witcher, among others.

His work in comics and animation obviously provided enough opportunities for him to establish himself as a talented voice actor, but he has also ventured into the world of adult animation, appearing in three episodes of Bojack Horseman as a fictionalized version of himself. He plays the part of Todd Chavez, a washed up actor who stumbles across various odd jobs, including acting in lewd movies. Even in these brief appearances, he is incredibly funny.

Television

Despite a string of film and music success, Pattinson has largely stayed away from the small screen. His big break in television was when he starred in two seasons of the HBO comedy, The Knick, as the cocky American, Jim Knick, who finds himself at the center of a medical drama. While the role didn’t bring him much fame, it did introduce him to a whole new audience.

More recently, he has appeared in two seasons of the critically acclaimed series, Billions as the title character’s (played by Damian Lewis) lawyer and confidant, Roy Baumeister. The role saw him branch out of his comfort zone and he revealed that he enjoyed the change of pace. “I love the way that Damian dresses me. He’s the best designer in the world and he always finds the most amazing pieces for me to wear,” he said. “It’s like a little experiment, and it’s awesome.”
