I feel like I’m in the middle of a horror movie. First, there were the crazy rumors, then the tabloid fodder, and now the press’s best friend: The Google search engine.

In the span of a few days, my life turned upside down. One moment I was on the cover of a Hollywood magazine, promoting my new flick, The Batman. The next, I was the subject of an international controversy, embroiled in a love triangle with two incredibly famous women.

It’s taken a bit of time to digest what happened, but now that I’m back in L.A., I’ve got plenty to tell you. Let’s start from the beginning.

A Different Cover

It’s funny how the fickle finger of fate can turn things around in an instant. One minute you’re gracing the cover of Hollywood’s hottest magazine, GQ, promoting your new movie, The Batman. The next, your life is turned upside down when you’re the subject of an international media firestorm, embroiled in a love triangle with two of Hollywood’s biggest stars. It’s enough to make you question the very fabric of reality. One thing’s for sure: The story doesn’t end here. It’s only just begun.

A Different Scandal

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the #MeToo movement, it’s that the media can be an unreliable source. Even now, after all these months, the #metoo movement is still being misrepresented and misunderstood by the media and the public alike. This is something we need to work on, and the best way to start is by being more accurate in our reporting. It’s important to distinguish between true and false accusations, to refrain from jumping to conclusions, and always to bear in mind that there’s a two-way street in every relationship, not just one-way street as it is frequently presented by the media.

A Different Love Triangle

Now that you’re back in Los Angeles and things have settled down a bit, I hope to have the opportunity to speak with you about something very important. Earlier this year, there was a minor media frenzy when it was reported that I was dating both Anna Kendrick and Priyanka Chopra. To be clear, we’re friends and I’ve never cheated on my wife, Frances. So, while this was creating a lot of interesting conversation and media fodder, it wasn’t true. It was all gossip and speculation. Now that both Anna and Priyanka are divorced, it’s safe to say that this story isn’t true anymore. It was a combination of timing and chance that we ended up on the same set for that Vanity Fair cover shoot in the first place.

While we were never actually going to be interviewed together as a couple, the fact that the rumor mill saw fit to spread this fiction led to a very strange media event that none of us were truly ready for. To hear our story first-hand from the mouths of the people who were actually there is something I find extremely satisfying. It’s almost like de-aging myself and reliving the whole experience, all thanks to advances in science and technology.

A Different Future

What’s important now is that I’m finally able to put this scandal behind me and get back to the business of making movies. While it was definitely a mind-bending experience, it also proved to be a lot of fun. I hope to do at least some of that fun work again soon, and I’m sure you will too.

As for my personal life, since this was all a bizarre interruption to the beginning of my career, I’ve decided to take a more leisurely approach. I no longer set many ambitious goals for myself, because I’m content to simply take things as they come. While I would still like to continue acting, now that this part of my life is over, I’ve got a lot more freedom to explore other passions. I’ve always been fascinated by architecture and design and feel that my career in entertainment has given me the perfect platform to pursue this as a hobby.

There are many projects I’ve been dying to get back to. One of the most interesting is the Hearst Tower, a super-modern masterpiece that’s currently under construction in New York City. I’ve always considered it a bit of a love-hate relationship. On the one hand, I’ve always wanted to work on this project. It was one of my early drawings when I first started thinking about architecture as a career, and it’s always been one of my favorite topics in school and on my blog. On the other hand, I’m nervous about returning to this project. While I’ve been lucky enough to work on some real heavyweights in the industry, this one is by far the most ambitious.

No matter what, this was a strange period in my life, and one I’ll never forget. It’s left me with a great appreciation for the power of the media, as well as a desire to prove myself to be more reliable and honest when reporting on stories. While this probably won’t satisfy some people, I’m sure it will satisfy the majority. At least we tried.
