We may know every other detail about the latest Twilight movie, but there’s one thing we need to find out. How is Robert Pattinson’s hair these days?
As we’ve established, the 27-year-old actor plays Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga, and his style choices are pretty close to the character he’s portraying. We’re thinking here about his hair, specifically. Is it still messy? Is it still shaggy? How has his hair changed since the beginning of the Twilight franchise?

Hair Product Rarities
One of the things that made Pattinson stand out even among Hollywood’s elite is his preference for natural hair products. As with most things in his life, he’s very committed to his hair and its care. For example, he doesn’t color it, he doesn’t heat style it, and he only uses natural products.
While most people are still deciding whether or not to enter the Twilight bubble of mediocrity, Pattinson has been there and done that. He’s now a veteran of the genre, and has, in fact, played the part of Edward Cullen multiple times. So, it’s about time we found out how he’s changed as an actor since the beginning.
Longer Hair
While we’re certainly aware that time passes and that all things change, it would be a bit of a spoiler to tell you that Edward’s hair has gotten longer. What is a spoiler is that this wasn’t the case in the first three movies. The full-body shots in which Pattinson is seen without his shirt on reveal that he doesn’t have long hair and that it’s a fairly new addition to his wardrobe.
It started with Twilight. Despite a few rumors to the contrary, the young man in the opening credits of the first film is definitely not wearing an afro. In fact, his hair is almost identical to the picture-perfect hairstyle he sported in the final Harry Potter movie. It’s safe to assume that this is a temporary solution to the part, as he wasn’t meant to be wearing his hair this way, but it’s one that worked out perfectly.
More Grooming
Even if it’s a temporary fix, choosing an afro-style hairstyle for Edward Cullen was a conscious choice on Pattinson’s part. Besides, he’s worn this kind of hairstyle in various interviews and on the red carpet. So, it would be a bit of a waste to dress him in clothing that he’s going to remove in the next scene.
Another thing that changed about Edward is his grooming regimen. Back in the day, he probably didn’t give much thought to how he looked once he left the bathroom. Now, however, he takes his skincare seriously, and has gone on record to state that he’s never felt better about himself than he does now.
This is especially evident in the way he’s cared for his eyebrows. Back in the day, we may have seen him scowl at the camera for a shot, but his eyebrows were always perfectly shaped. Now that he takes his skincare more seriously, we get to see the softer side of him, and it’s evident in his eyebrows and every other part of his face
Mature Styling
For someone who doesn’t really care about how he looks, Edward’s transformation into a mature and responsible individual is remarkable, to say the least. It’s not just the fact that he stopped trying to be fashionable, but that he started taking care of himself more, mentally and physically.
The difference is apparent in the way he looks now and how he used to look. Take a look at the before and after pictures of Ed and you’ll see what we mean. It’s like he shed his carefree attitude along with his teen years, and now feels confident enough in himself to accept his physical appearance, however he comes into being.
Brighter Hair
All things considered, it would be a pretty big spoiler to tell you that everything about Edward has gotten brighter. It would certainly make for interesting viewing if the character were to sport a vibrant, life-like color for a change, but that’s probably not something we’ll see happen. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to paint him in a colorful palette just for a moment…
Even though it would be a huge spoiler to reveal the full extent of Edward’s hair changes, it wouldn’t be a total surprise. With any luck, we’ll get to see the character evolve and change as the series progresses. What we know for sure is that it’s been an interesting journey and it’s been fun to watch.
