Weddings are a magical moment. When you exchange vows with the person you love most in the world, it’s an unforgettable moment. For Elizabeth and Paul, their wedding reflected their love for each other and their shared passions for adventure and travel. They wanted to celebrate in a way that was personal to them and that offered an insight into their relationship.

A Private Little Wedding

The couple tied the knot privately, saying “I do” to one another in an intimate ceremony. They did not want a traditional celebration, which is uncommon for people choosing to wed in this day and age.

They held the ceremony at Elizabeth’s hometown church. The ceremony was performed by the same priest who officiated at her parents’ wedding more than 40 years earlier. The entire event was private, with only their closest family and friends present.

As the bride walked down the aisle, she was flanked by members of her family and her brother’s wedding party. She wore a stunning ivory dress by the Australian designer Rosalind Davidson. Her father, Colin, served as her guardian angel, giving her away to be wed to his beloved daughter’s best friend.

After the ceremony, the happy couple danced to the song “Here Comes the Bride” by Elton John, surrounded by family and friends. They spent their wedding night at a nearby B&B and then flew off on their much-deserved honeymoon to Europe, Canada, and the United States.

A Sophisticated Affair

From the beginning, the couple dressed the part of a sophisticated couple. For Elizabeth’s bachelor party, she chose a daring white dress that hugged every curve and invited plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” from the guests in attendance. It was quite the night to be a bachelor. Her sweetheart gave her away in an elegant black tuxedo, and the pair enjoyed an unforgettable night together.

They kept the tradition of their wedding day and held their reception at the Fairmont Maldives. The luxurious five-star hotel offered the perfect backdrop for their big day. Elizabeth’s parents and other relatives traveled from the UK to see their grandchild wed their love. Friends and family members of the couple came from near and far, making this a memorable celebration for everyone involved.

The bride and groom danced together several times during the course of the evening. They also posed for photos with their guests, including the newlyweds, before wishing them a lifetime of happiness together.

After the ceremony, the happy newlyweds made their way to their honeymoon, where they slept in style in a traditional Australian fashion – with a swag and a cosy beside a wood fire.
